Here's the problem. You can't expect your team to win a world series at the pace the Yankees are expected to do so. The problem is that if you're going to outspend the rest of the league (regardless of how much money is devoted to homegrown players like Jeter), you HAVE to take responsibility for not getting out of the first round far too often. If you spend over 200 million dollars a year, then you are not going to be held to same level as another good team that spends half as much. Injuries happen to every team, but the Yankees have very little depth on the offensive side.
