    • Twitter rumor: Bourjos to AAA / Trout to the Bigs

Trumbo is not going to be traded. Morales DH's against righties only and he might not be extended after this year. Abreu, Hunter, Wells -- 2 of them will be gone for sure after this year.

Pujols is not going to play all 162 games at 1B either.

Trumbo is the only legit power bat the Angels have besides Pujols. The Angels are afraid to have another Napoli-like trade mistake.

I don't believe they will. I said that's what I want, because someone asked me what I think the Angels SHOULD do. Does it make more sense now?

This year we've already lost more games because we are one man short in the bullpen than the number of games Trumbo will win all year.

It's hard to say "a number of games" a player himself will win all year. Trumbo provides depth to the team. A variety of things could have happened other than "having another good reliever" for the Angels not to lose those games.

The Angels need a quality arm in the bullpen for sure and DiPoto is working on that. However these are the names I think he's dangling for a trade -- Abreu (of course), Wells (tough but not impossible), Izzy or Callaspo, Bourjos (if neither Abreu nor Wells can be moved), or even Morales .

Not all that hard. Bill James has win shares, there is wins over replacement value. It's actually pretty easy.

The only player that will bring in the kind of arm we need is Trumbo or maybe Segura.

I *hate* trading for relievers - they're over-valued and "perishable" - last year's Fireman Of The Year candidate is this years's Tommy John candidate.

Unfortunately, our reliever candidates in the minors look like a reach right now.

For the moment, if I could have anything, it would be for our offense to pit it together and take some pressure off the bp ...

"Trout is never going to platoon. When he's here he plays everyday."

Are you sure MS knows that? He platooned him last year (or let him ride the bench, more accurately)

Peter Bourjos Bobblehead may 16, I don't see Peter sent to AAA on his bobblehead day.

You're right of course. You should hate it.

I hate it also. I wanted to sign Dotel this off-season, not Hawkins. I have no idea how Dotel is doing by they way.

We can't develop them because Scioscia doesn't value pitchers like O'Day. Command is more important than power, and he doesn't realize it.

I hate it too, what's the alternative?

Absolutely 100 percent positive.

And how is that? The FO said the same thing last year, that he needed to "play everyday". Yet, Scioscia played him about twice a week when he was with the big club. How would you know this year is any different?

I never heard the front office say a player that replacing Wells and Bourjos who went on the DL was going to be an everyday player last year.

He was brought up two weeks before the call up 12 days before the call up date and played just about every day for three weeks.

Repeatedly the front office has said Trout will play everyday.

>>Unfortunately, our reliever candidates in the minors look like a reach right now.<<

Maybe, but still, why not bring them up? Give someone like Jeremy Berg or Ryan Brasier a shot and use the Bill Veek incentive method and tell him that there's a sniper on the roof with orders to shoot if he even thinks about throwing something outside the zone.

Or just bring up Richards and park him in the pen. Plenty of other starters were developed that way. Just let him throw and give him the occasional swing start.

I dunno, seems like there's more options I'd rather go after than trade a useful piece for relief, unless we're talking about one of the top tier ones. Like Rivera. I'd trade Trumbo for Rivera if DiPoto could get Stoneman drunk enough.

PB is gone. He can't swipe bags and he can't hit. Trout can field center just as well. If I had it my way, both Wells and Abreu would be gone before PB, but that isn't going to happen.
