Too funny.

Last week someone I know on facebook posted a Joan Jett up-tempo, hard rock version of that song that she performed on David Letterman, I liked it. Not sure how long ago the show aired. Someone then posted a story on the creation of the song itself, 'Love Is All Around'. It was written by a former member of Buddy Holly's Crickets, Sonny Curtis, he got a call from his agency at 11:30am one day in 1970 to see if he'd be interested in doing the theme for a new sitcom starring that other Tyler Moore. The agency brought him a 4 page outline for the show an hour later, and by 3pm he was at Studio City sitting in front of the show's creator, James L. Brooks, performing the first verse:

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big
And girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving...

He wrote the second verse later and it was used in subsequent seasons of the show:

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day
And suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it...

In 1966, The Bobby Fuller Four had a big hit with a Sonny Curtis song: 'I Fought The Law'.

Tyler Moore played several games in LF during the Grapefruit League season in the hopes of increasing his versatility.
