Look at the Fangraphs stats of it genius. He was purely dominant. Let me guess, Garza pitched poorly yesterday too because Ramirez wasn't in the lineup? The grown ups are talking in this thread, go play with your Twilight figurines again.

"It would be fantastic if Shark continues to pitch well and becomes that 2 or 3. Consistency is the key. He will have a few bad starts. They need to start laying the foundation for a Garza extension now."

I think Jed said it was a fluid thing. They're always in contact I believe. So we'll see. I mean that's two really good ones and the SP market just keeps going up. But I would love to have him for years to come. He's one heck of a pitcher and pretty dang hilarious as well. His post game comments on the throw to first were great.

It is just one start.
But I believe the talent and desire are there and the confidence is too.
He now has 4 legit pitches , if he learns to set up hitters a little better I can easily see him being a solid #2.
He's seemed to overcome one of hius biggest issues of the past and that was falling behind hitters.
All spring and in his first start he was getting ahead of hitters quickly .

I don't recall the wind doing much to help him that game .

Nobody ever said he was the real deal- yet. This is all about- "what if" he does become the real deal? -What if he keeps this intensity all season long and proves himself as a top 3 starter? Then the decision to give Garza a extention becomes easier and becoming a contender can happen much faster.

We already know how you watch games. On your knees in front of a Casey Coleman shrine which consists of a game worn jersey and bags full of his hair clippings.

Because the gameplan in the howling wind is to lay it over the plate.

Please ...lets wait until today before we rush to judgement.

If RCS doesn't like a player he can never say anything positive about him.
The wind had nothing to do with how well he pitched that game he was dominating hitters and not many balls were hit hard against him.

It was a factor the whole series.

And I am sure you were saying the same thing about Dempster after his first start.... Wait, you weren't. Wind was never brought up even though if it was any other day, Zimmerman would have 2 home runs to his name. You are so delusional.

I like Samardzija A LOT. I've been one of his biggest supporters on this board.

I just think you're being a little immature (sorry meant premature ...LOL) on his dominance. Trigg is immature.

He can't give credit to anyone that isn't one of "his guys."

Indeed he will have bad starts, they all do. The question is how will he react when he does? That will let us know if he is for real or not. Will he bounce back, or will he fold? Hopefully we don't have to answer that question for a while. Gotta beat them bird turds first.

it would be nice if he can keep pitching well, but the key to a faster turnaround is the offense producing runs

I know. He never agrees with anything I say (or anyone on this board that isn't a troll).

But back to Shark. Like you said, he's got 4 pitches now. And when he can control them, he's one heck of a pitcher. I loved hearing him say how he just started wanting to pitch and not throw and focus on command. The mental maturation aspect is awesome to see/hear. Here's to him schooling the Cards today!!

So you can credit Dempster for pitching to the conditions and pitching well, not not Shark.... Typical RCS.

Definitely should be a test today. That Cardinal lineup is not going to be a pushover.
