From 2008 - 2011 Gordon moved from Rookie to A to AA to AAA and at each stop hit, respectively, 331, 301, 277, 333.

In 2011 MLB he hit 304 in 213 AB. Most impressively in 113 AB after his September call up he ht 372 in the major leagues.

Cruz was brought up only because dee had hurt himself the day before and they wanted another versatile piece to use. Also I'm guessing to prepare for one of our pieces being traded...but even before Uribe got hurt, I said cruz is here more to cover 2b/3rd since Mattingly has to use Herrera and Hairston in OF more now with Ethier and kemp out.

It's gonna be hard to prove this with Dee now hurt with his finger, forcing Mattingly to sit him and put in Cruz...but oh well lol

"...Cruz was brought up only because dee had hurt himself the day before ..."

When did that happen? I don't remember Dee hurting himself before Cruz was brought up. I think Cruz was brought up because the Dodgers patience with Dee is wearing thin.

What's amazing is the fact that so many people on these boards think they know so much more than the professional baseball people who make decisions on who has potential and who doesn't.

Excepting that what else did he do right? You could say SB's but when you hit you going to get that opportunity right? He wasn't stellar in the minors and looking at his overall play in the mlb and history of horrific fielding in the minors and they majors, I'd say its quite obivous he belongs in AAA where he can continue to develop and learn how to be a leadoff hitter. The guy was flat out rushed to the mlb, thats not his fault, but to keep him up at the show without the proper development could doom his chance at success.

<< I don't remember Dee hurting himself before Cruz was brought up>>

Gordon pulled up lame running to 1B against the Mets. Herrera finished that game at SS and Cruz was called up and started the next day.

I have read these boards for years, but as you can tell I don't post very often. And I know that these boards are here for the fans to express their opinions, but sometimes we "fans" have so much belief in our own "opinions" that we overlook the fact that there is so much we don't see and know. We see the end product which is wins and losses but we don't see the hours of practice or have the years of experience and baseball knowledge that goes into making the decisions that are made. Anyways, the boys are back in first and hopefully at full strength after the break and we can get back on track for the postseason!

"Voting or voicing an opinion on this board are similar exercises of our Constitutional rights. In the case of this board, the right of free speech."

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that phrase. If we had freedom of speech on this board why are so many posts & threads vaporized? Why do people get banned? This is a privately owned & run message board. We post at MLB's discretion.

"That is a moronic statement."

Said the guy who needed to edit his baseball message board post 3 times before posting it.

PS..... I thought that you were so much better than everyone else here because you don't need to resort to personal attacks?
