Oooh 6-4 Reds now...the Padres are giving them fits....

The Padres offense hasn't been too terrible lately, but their pitching leaves a fair amount to be desired, especially in a hitters park like Great America.

Next year, if they can upgrade their staff a bit, there could be some big improvement. Add in Quentin and Headley for another year with their young players (Grandal, Alonso, etc) and there is plenty of potential there.

Well, they gave them fits for a bit.

And former Pirates continue to haunt us, whether it's horrific performances like Ross The Boss, indirect stellar ones like Ludwick, or directly hurting us like Steve Pearce.

There seems to be no help on the horizon. Looks like the Bucs are just gonna hafta do this one on their own.

Just keep winning series boys. The Reds have to come back down to earth don't they? DON'T THEY?!

Dempster gave up 8 earned in 4 2/3 in his Rangers debut. Angels lead Texas 8-7 in the 6th.

Aramis Ramirez hits a solo shot and extends the Brewers lead to 2-0 over the Reds.

And now Corey Hart sends a solo shot to extend the lead to 3-0. They're in the bottom of the sixth over there.

Maldonado hits the third home run of the inning, a 2 run shot that makes it 5-0 Brewers.

Yeah I'll need to take a long shower after this one.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Reds go on a losing streak, or lose something like 8 out of 10.

That might surprise me a little, but I sure wouldn't mind it.

You simply must practice "safe rooting" when doing so for the Brewers. I suggest a full body condom, think Naked Gun...... ;-)

Things even out in baseball. The gods have been good to them for three weeks. They're about to get a week and a half of the bad gods' wrath.

The Reds have had a great run to be sure, but lost in the shuffle is the Cards who have been playing extremely well lately and gaining a little ground on the Bucs.

Nice to see Pearce do some damage to a team that isn't the Pirates.

Do the Reds still have the magic? Paul with the single to bring in run, bases still loaded.

If the Brewers blow this game it's gonna feel like they did it just to intentionally screw the Pirates.

It's that ballpark, nothing good for the Pirates ever happens there. I blame Randall Simon for bringing the curse of the sausage race upon us.
