On August 4th he pitched 5.1 innings and gave up 1 run
On August 9th he pitched 6 innings and gave up 2 runs
On August 14th he pitched 6 innings and gave up 3 runs
On August 19th he pitched 6 innings and gave up 2 runs
On August 31st he pitched 5 innings and gave up 2 runs
And that 4 of his wins were in August.
All those don't fall into the middle of May to September, right?

What´s your point? My point is that his unbelievable run support resulted in his good record. Phil Hughes career ERA is above 5 as a starter. That means he´s not a good starting pitcher.
