They have to go on a run or two...beat the teams they're better than and beat the O's, Yankees, Rays and Jays. Not sure they'll make it to 90 when they keep giving up leads like they do.

I thought it would be the usual outcome. THAT is just what they need but have not been able to do for the most part. Now get two of the next three.

That reminds me of a saying Michigan Wolverine fans have as an excuse whenever they lose.

"We didn't lose, we just ran out of time."

Hold on. We are 3 over 500
which makes it the high point
of the season, now we just have to win 21 straight like Colorado a few years ago, and then , well , you know the rest..everything that rises must converge.

Excuse me but the Colorado Rockies did not win 21 straight games. The actual MLB record for most consecutive wins rests with Theo's Cubbies when they won 21 staight in 1935. Tha AL record was set by your Oakland A's in 2002 with 20 consecutive wins. (Featured in Moneyball)

To split hairs, the most consecutive wins is with the NY Giants who had 26 consecutive wins. HOWEVER, that inckluded a TIE in one game, As MLB does not include ties, the record defaults to Cubs.

You can look it up.

I totally agree. Im not completely concerned about the offense doing their job as much as I am about the starting pitching. Lester and Beckett both have to step it up several notches. BP looks good especially with bard back there (I never wanted him to start) And Bailey may return soon. Keep Middlebrooks at third, try to trade Youk for some good pitcing prospets, add Crawford and ellsbury and they could put together an impressive in streak.

Exactly what did Crawfish do last year that gives you hope that he will be better than Nava has this year?
Honest question, because I saw a FAR worse fielder, and a far worse hitter.

I don't care how much he makes, that contract was pathetic.

Simply wishful thinking on my part, Dentist. A while ago, when I first learned, that Crawford would be out, I said this will put added pressure on him and it might make it much more difficult to bounce back. Then when I saw hed be out until end of June, it made me feel even moreso. I hope I'm wrong and I would love to eat crow on this one. So only time will tell.

I think we can all agree that Crawford is not worth what we are paying him...........BUT............The Crawford you saw last year is NOT the Crawford we thought we were getting. For whatever reason he had a BAD YEAR!

But to even suggest that Nava, Kalish, MacDonald, Ross, Podsednick, or any of the others who have been in our outfield are better than Crawford, is WRONG!
