Not a fair comparison. Swisher got a $13MM offer. Martin batted 199 the second half and was looking for a big contract. Ibanez is pushing 40. Hairston was available at a more reasonable price than any and we never made an attempt to keeep him. $2MM for one year was more insult than offer. I hate the Yankees but we'd be a contender if we spent have what they do. Besides, it doesn't hide the fact that we did nothing but trade a Cy Young award winner.
