I'd happily give them Juan Rivera, James Loney AND Jerry Sands. And I don't even like Gonzalez.

Yes!! Gonzalez is guaranteed to solve the 1b power struggles for years! And who knows how well he could finish the year in LA, away from the apparent soap opera in Boston. This is no time for haggling. This deal needs to get done. I'd say that the front office should leave 3 to 10 blank lines on the contract and have Boston fill them in with whatever prospect they want. They are indeed just prospects.. Fingers crossed.

It's not that Adrian himself hasn't been able to stick in Boston, the whole club is in meltdown. I heard where Ortiz walked out of one of Bobby Valentine's meetings. And that guy usually goes with the flow pretty much.

It's not a reflection on Adrian, it's just the current state of the Red Sox.
