I know I'm shocked, I expected them to compete and win the World Series this year.

Your 'Beating a dead horse' quote is quite funny coming from someone who goes on and on and on infecting threads by $.crewing with posters. Arguing with posters on a MB seems to be your only 'outlet', you can't just sit back from your computer and think, "Oh well it's age sounding off again etc" and ignore it, you just have to post something to keep the line moving......!

I've had him on ignore several times and you're right it does make your board experience much nicer.

Then you aren't that familiar with what the term means. Why don't you just kick your dog and get it over with?

You have not, but I would prefer you did since you can't talk baseball.

uhhhh...when did it ever wake up?
game 1 of the series - no offense until the 9th inning. Lahair rattles motte with a great 12 pitch at bat and they manage to score.

game 2 of the series - no offense until the 9th inning. Lahair hits a game tying homerun and they squeak another run across in the 10th (and shouldnt have because campana was out)

game 3 of the series - no offense. lahair hits a solo shot.

anyone see a pattern here? Pretty much the only one doing anything is lahair.
I enjoyed the series win, but i never kidded my self into thinking that they were going to be able to do this on a consistent basis...

This is a rebuild year. I suspect players will be coming and going all year long. I'll evaluate how theo is doing in april of next year - its waaay to soon to do that now.

some days you have to tip your cap to the pitcher,
yesterday was one of those days.....as far as the
match up on Friday, I like it....I am glad that we don't
have Garza going up against him, gives us a chance to
split the series, and who knows, we could get lucky with
Maholm vs Halladay

Yes, some days you do have to 'tip your cap' as you say but we've been doing an awful lot of that the last few years. I want our hitters to at least start making contact when we have guys on the bases, we get guys on then we mysteriously stop hitting. LaHair is the only home run threat in the line-up right now, Campana can't get on often enough to use his speed, Soriano's power stroke has completely disappeared and Stewart looks like a statue in the batters box. The only threat to reach base with any regularity is Castro and that's a really sad indictment of where this team is at. Pitchers have to throw shutouts every day, the bullpen could implode at any minute and so could a couple of guys on defense at the drop of a hat. Where's the consistency at bat? Do we not now know how to sacrifice etc? Plate discipline is still a major problem.

Maholm vs Halladay, yes, a blind squirrel etc etc. Lucky to get one out of the three, that's my prediction for this series. .500 looks mighty far away already.......!!!
