39 shots on goal, against 20 for the coyotes. It was obvious after 2 periods that the Hawks were going to need a lot of luck to get one past Smith last night. They outplayed the coyotes, out shot them, and got nothing to show for it. We can't say they gave up, 39 shots on goal is not giving up. I don't think any team could've beaten Smith last night...stellar performance by him. What lost this series for the Hawks, was the same thing that lost them several games this year...NO POWER PLAY. It's pitiful. And the "Stars" of the team didn't produce squat. 3 lousy goals from the stars, for the whole series. Soft goals that Crawford let in, cost them 2 games. Coyotes made their shots count. In the end, Smith was just too big, too strong and too good...in the words of Stacey King.
