We already faced Alverez once this season in Toronto. He had a decent game against us going 7 innings 6 hits 3 runs 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. We did end up winning that game 6-4 though.

I hope we do better against Alverez tonight.

Kinda figured you'd show up for tonight's game. I hope Tommy brings his A game with him tonight.

Another note from Roch was that " second baseman Robert Andino will leave the club after tonight's game for the birth of his third child at noon tomorrow in Miami. He will be placed on paternity leave and is expected to miss at least two games. A roster move is pending.
The Orioles could decide to call up an outfielder, depending on Nolan Reimold's status. Otherwise, infielder Matt Antonelli is a good possibility."

Good for the Andinos but together with Reimold's injury that makes things difficult.

Yup, were a little shorthanded.

The Tides lineup hasn't been posted yet. If Antonelli's not in it, maybe that's a clue.

I suspect that Bill Hall's not going to be added to the Orioles' 25-man yet but because he can play 3B, 2B and all three OF positions, maybe that's a possibility.

If they bring up an outfielder, it should be xavier avery, considering the season he is having. If he gets called up he should bat leadoff and play centerfield with jones moving to left.

Antonelli, Adams and Tolleson are all in the Norfolk lineup tonight. If one of them was going to be in Baltimore for tomorrow night's game, he probably wouldn't have started for the Tides tonight. But that's just a guess.

I'd like to see Antonelli, he got a lot of chatter this offseason.

Interesting that Gary Thorne, referring to Kelly Johnson, said the Jays are high on him and consider him "their second baseman of the future." Johnson's a good player, but he's 30 years old. Thorne gives me a headache.

Nineteen pitches but Tommy did a nice job. He faced three batters and got them all out. That's the idea. Striking out Bautista was great.

Yes! Our leadoff batter, Chavez, led off with a single.

Double for Hardy!

Dayum. Jones scored the runner but he hit into a DP to do it.

Ah! One run with the bases loaded and nobody out. Not a good way to take advantage of that situation.

Things were shaky in the infield, too, but Hunter got the outs again. Still 1-0, good guys.

Yeah, and I'm sour.

Describe the difference and you're the winner.

Nice play at third by Flaherty... good reaction/good throw.

Hunter has thrown 83 pitches through 5 innings but he's held Toronto to 3 hits (one, a solo home run) and only walked two. He has 3 strikeouts and has looked really solid. Matt Wieters' homer off the left fielder's glove gives us a 2-1 lead with 5 innings complete.

It sure would have helped if the Orioles had made more out of that bases loaded/no outs situation in the first.
