There is a lot of hate compared to other sport forums boards.

You're right.

There are different levels of baseball knowledge and participation. Some people are new to the game, some people have ideas which differ from the mainstream, and some people are young.

All their ideas should be welcomed and encouraged, even ones that don't make that much sense. There are a few posters with the patience to point out the flaws in certain arguments in a nice way, while others seem to thrive on belittling others because they lack the baseball acumen.

While the bully posters defend themselves by suggesting that they get annoyed with all the novice and uniformed posters, the truth of the matter is that there are half a dozen forums out there, where they could go, that are filled with avid Blue Jay fans that have the same or similar knowledge of the game that they do.

But, not unlike the 25 year old kicking <ass in rookie league ball, these posters have no interest in being in an environment where the other posters have equal knowledge. They much prefer to be in a place filled with a fresh supply of newbies who they can belittle, and where they can take great pride in their superior knowledge of baseball.

Sadly, that's the way of the internet... learning through trial and error is unacceptable. Participation is only allowed once you are a master.

Some of the responses and actions are completely unwarranted. It's similar to a gym rat going up to someone who maybe only shows up a couple times a week and ridiculing them for not knowing how to lift a weight properly. Except I bet have the snarks on this board would have the actual balls to be a <douche in real life.

The problem with this board is that there are a bunch of people who live on it and these guys are so far out in fantasy land that there are far too many threads/posts made to feed their ego's and create imaginary rivalries with players and coaches.

Only thing that bothers me is when people make threads that have nothing to do with anything..other than that I just use the ignore button

I always make sure I do not make any rude or inappropriate posts on here

They call you a troll because you have 5 troll accounts, all with
the same personality.. puppy is a different personality, puppy is
your " nice person " account. Problem is they treat your nice
account just as rudely as your troll ones. They haven't learned
to treat you with respect, they don't realize when puppy comes
out, you are not a troll.
There is no cure for this, it's beyond your control.
What i find puzzling is that you have 5 similar IDs
and only one kind caring one.
Do the therapies and medications not work ?

"Oh please. Name me another Jays board with both the post quantity and number of quality members that this board has. There isn't one."

It isnt post quantity I was looking for. I would rather have 10x less posts and get 3 or 4 decent things to discuss. Look at the front page right now, there must be 25-30 threads that are either OT or totally meaningless. And I am not sure your "quality" members things holds up, that is really a matter of opinion. I usually agree with what you and some others have to say or talk about, but just because someone has 17,500 posts, that should lend no more credibility than someone who was 500. Some people get their 30,000 posts by spewing nonsense 50 times a thread.

Anyway, this has gotten no where. I was just looking for a decent board. Have to just whittle this one down to nothing with the ignore button i guess.

<Definitely. The quality and quantity of posters is the saving grace of this board. Cos everything else about it sucks (like me not being able to say "sucks").

I dream of the day when we all decide to switch to a nicer message board. Setting up one that's better moderated, modern and mobile friendly is easy. So is transferring everyone's post count. Coordinating a switch is the difficult part.
