Sure but it is his job. When a pitcher misses badly, it is the catcher's job to block and smother the bad pitch. Most wild pitches that aren't over everyone's head, aren't knuckle balls, splitters or fork balls that very badly missed or 55 foot sinkers are a result of the catcher not doing his job. No fastball or slider that bounces behind the plate and within 2 feet of the catcher should go for a wild pitch-- not with a decent catcher.
