If you're going to bring him into a one run game in the 7th inning, I would think his job would be to do better than giving up a home run to make it a two run game.

Yeah I agree. The fault is with Fredi. There's something new.

Well, to me, it was JJs mid to high 80 GAS which didnt hhhave enough movement to justify the velocity that made long innings and ran up his pitch count so we had to take him out in the 5th as the main cause.

Where is the complaint about the cold air affecting JJ's pitching control at? Because according to JJ, he was blaming the cold air for him having to warm his hand up to throw a single baseball.

99.9% of the time the "last guy" to get the BP spot is the weak link. Yes.

I was excited about our pen the entire ST and then the Braves have to go and spoil it by signing Durbin. It's like the Braves FO can't tell Durbin has been the Linebrink and Proctor for every team he has played on in the past- why put another one of these guys back on our team- did the FO not watch any games last season? The LH trade doesn't bother me as much at least his pitching style brings something unique to the pen and he has movement on his pitches unlike Durbin's straight fastball.

But Regardless- the score was 2-3 when he entered the game.

"Durbin did his job, I guess, but Frego did not do his."

Very true. Durbin should not come into a game unless the Braves are either up by five or behind by five late in the game....in other words, a mop up pitcher. I think Fredi is overcompensating for overusing O'Ventbrel last season by swinging too far in the opposite direction this year.

Of course I place more blame on Frank Wren for signing Durbin in the first place than I do Fredi for using him. Ascencio would have been more than fine in this role.

I don't think there has to be a weak link in the bullpen. Flande did the job in spring training and deserved the chance even though he is a rookie.

Durbin is a veteran reliever in the Linebrink, Proctor mold who doesn't do his job.

Amusing.......... The Braves just got swept by the Mets and this thread suggests that Durbin is a weak link. An obvious attempt to avoid the obvious.
