In Peoria's game do you know if pitching Wells, Liria, Suarez and McDonald 2 innings each was by design? Was Wells taken out unexpectedly or was it a pitching by committee scenario? Just curious, the 2 innings seemed strange.

Wells left with an injury. No further info.

Through a quirk like in MLB this year (LaLa will be managing the NL even though he is sans job), the Smokies manager will be the North Manager for the All Star game even though he didnt manage them last year. The game will also be played on the Smokies home field in Sevierville.

The starting pitching in the system might not be as weak as some people think.
Quite a few guys are having nice years so far.

They still project to the back of the end. You also have to look closely at some of these kids to really get the full story. For instance, PJ Francescon started the year out dominating Peoria. That's great, but he is older than his competition in the league at 23 years old. So he should be dominating them. There are a lot of little variables to take into account.
