    • Ot: I am passing a kidney stone

I remember the doc saying it looked like the stone
had mostly passed thru my system. He didn't actually use the
word system, so i am assuming he meant it had worked itself
most of the way thru the kidney. I was too out of it from
the dilaudid.

Probably a stone near the bladder in the lower ureter.

I'd had severe IBS most of my life. Gastroenterologists
have been worthless. What diet and herbs are you on.
are you a vegetarian? I was originally misdiagnosed 25 year
ago with crohns.

I feel your pain! And since we are all here sharing stories.....

I had 3 at the same time back in December.

Made about 5 ER trips and 3 surgeries from the beginning to the end of the month.

First trip to the ER showed all 3 on the scan, one was in the bladder that passed without me feeling it. One was in the ureter, and one was in the kidney.

The one in the ureter wouldn't pass. Pain would come and go and got so bad i was in and out of the ER every other day. Eventually my urologist said I should have surgery where they go in and get it. They got it out, felt like sh*t the couple of days after that then was fine.

I had the shock wave surgery later that month for the one in the kidney, it was some what successful. Doc said it basically disintegrated. Well, it did and blocked flow from the kidney to the ureter. I had the same type of surgery as the first time 2 days later to get it at all out. It was successful and I had to have a stint put in for a week to help me urinate. 2 days after I took the stent out I was back to normal.

Easily the worst month of my life.

well the herbs I used to help control it are not the kind the doctor will tell you about but a "no preservative" diet can make a lot of things better that are UN-explainable or UN-fixable. I am pretty sure that the preservatives in food, mainly mono sodium glutamate and the kind if frozen dinners are the worst kind. Different food colorings can cause issues too but the only sure way is to use the internet to find out all the secret names for mono sodium glutamate. Even the smallest dose can mess with my system for a week. Once you've cleared your system of them, you get a super immune system, I havent had a serious cold or flu in 10 years

i've passed them twice. my doc now has me on urocit daily (1080 MG). it's intended to break up the stones, and makes them easier to pass.

guess i've taken it for 10 yrs or so, and haven't had to go back to the emergency room since. about once a month or so i'll feel a small portion of a stone pass, but it's not painful. suggest a prescription to prevent the stones formation, and breakup of any that have already formed, if you can get one.

Hi Crosley,
Thanks for your concern. I think it's a strange situation.
Except for the day after I came home from the ER,
last Tuesday. I really haven't had any pain that is similar
to when i went to the ER. I am still drinking a lot of water, lemon
and olive oil.
