    • Is Rusty Kuntz a possible replacement for Ned Yost ?

Thinking about the "Rusty Kuntz as replacement" thing for a moment. I wonder if past history is a predictor of the future. Didn't the Royals hire Ned Yost mid-season when Trey Hillman was on the hot seat? And then he slid right in when Trey got axed. Is Kuntz' hiring a pre-cursor to that (as others have suggested) and Dayton and/or Glass following a familiar pattern?

Which begs the question: what would hiattrules think of the celebration?

He's pretty keen on identifying and encouraging the proper ways of building morale and team chemistry.

One can only assume his silence is due to his still incomplete data analysis?

No Janie, Yost was hired after the 2009 season as one of several "special advisors" to Moore. Remember Yost was also out of town on an assignment when Hillman was fired, which was another pretty good indication that the firing was a rather quick decision by somebody else than Moore.

There was also speculation that John Gibbons was going to replace Hillman after Gibbons was hired following the 2008 season to be bench coach.

Meanwhile, Kuntz has been with the Royals in various capacities for years.

OK, admittedly long day at work, and the synapses aren't firing on all cylinders, but what do you mean?

Listening to Rex Hudler last night with his comments about Kuntz making bunting practice fun for guys like Frenchy, Hosmer, and Moose for bragging rights, then to see Frenchy lay one down successfully makes me think that Kuntz is a legitimate candidate to replace Yost should it come to that. I had wondered why Kuntz was replaced last season for Sisson when it was obvious the players liked him, was making me think Yost felt threatened by him so maybe there is something to it. Some moves other teams make like the White Sox with Robbin Ventura work out well so maybe giving Kuntz a shot would be a good move. The game needs to be fun for the players when they get into the dog days of August, give them something to motivate them. I wouldnt be against the move if it were to come.
