Well, like Wgman said, you can't fire the entire team . Besides, a number of players have been here awile, and "never" had a problem "attached" to their names .

And, again like Wgman said, I too can't imagine them bringing BVD back next year .......... so, why not try it ?

Well, we can forget about them getting rid of him. John Henry released a "we're not firing Bobby V" statement today, so looks like they are still unwilling to admit a mistake at the moment.

The fact that he released "that" statement, indicates he's, at least, "aware" of how many, in Red Sox Nation, want BVD gone .

BTW, "BVD" because he reminds me of old underwear, that "stinks" and needs to "tossed out" !

As I said ealier today, imo there is an understood agreement that BV will "resign" if and when told to do so rather than for pigheaded and aloof John Henry and his snake accomplice to Larry Lucchino to demean themselves by firing him, which would indicate that he wasn't the right choice.

"How bout fire bobby v right now while the team has a chance..."

That's it, fire Valentine and all the guys on the DL will magically heal overnight, all hitters will bat over .400 while the starters will throw shutouts from here on out. You found the secret to success.

I would say the odds are against it, but on the other hand, every once in a while a team catches fire under a new manager. There is no way all this is his fault, but as they say, "you can't fire all the players." I think at this point if I were ownership and I thought there was any chance they could salvage this season, I'd fire him now. I don't think they can bring him back after this horrible a season anyhow, so why not do it now and see what happens

They COULD catch fire! It is Possible.
I'm sure a lot of you remember Joe Morgan. (Took over after the AS break)

Yeah, Remy tried to dismiss what Morgan did for the team that year because it was earlier in the year, but they ran off a 12 winning streak, lost one, then one 7 more in a row in his first 20 games. If that happened right now under a new manager (not that it likely, obvioulsly) they'd proabably have a playoff spot virtually assured at the end of it. So saying it's too late now for a similar "Morgan's Magic" to help them is crazy.
