Whitey Ford! Spent a couple days hunting with a Yankee pitcher from that era. He told me what a great athlete Ellie Howard was. Yet after many of Ford's pitches, Ellie would seem to lose his balance. While setting himself he'd conviently reach down with the ball in his hand to regain his balance, and rough it on the ground. Or he'd drop the ball by his right leg and while picking it up slide it against his shin guard hook, which was razor sharp, before tossing it back to Whitey. Guy told me, ball was so mutilated when it got back to him, Whitey couldn't throw it straight if he tried!!

Your right its hypocritical. And besides the steroid Era was way back in th e70's 80's, today more advanced nutrients dubbed as "steroids" by people that dont know anything about it. From what we hear Clemens, Pettite, Arod and many others who took PEDs have a high work ethic. People who were and are dedicated to their profession. Its urks me to think corporate mo.rons whove never played the game dictate what is and isnt "legal" in the league. They tookout and hung those players out to dry, whilst they made millions upon millions in the "long ball" Era of the Mcguire-Sosa years. Buncha Hypocrites and we the sheeple who follow them.
