Well,of course if you have a lot of guys on base and a bunch of extra base hits....you will score a lot.But now I get the concept of that statistic, which I did not before.OBP plus slugging.IMHO you can be a very good hitter and not be a slugger. That is what Barney is.A singles hitter will not have a high OPS will he?He still is valuable if his BA is high with RISP.Not sure what Barney's is,but even without that singles hitters have their place especially middle infielders.
I can't remember a middle infielder on the Cubs since Ernie Banks and Sandberg with a high OPS.I can't think of another one.

Not to mention his off the field problem... I am guessing having a possible rap<e charge against him isn't exactly helping his mentality on the field. And yes, I think he is innocent.

IMO, a player has to either get on base well, slug well, our do both adequately. Barney doesn't fit that for me. Also, relying on risp stats doesn't work well as those stats tend to vary from year to year.

Police have said that no charges will be brought against him.

Good. I haven't kept up on the case. It would still could affect his mentality, though. I mean, Braun won his appeal and he had a really bad spring. Things like that can affect a player.

And yeah, he could still get civil charges (which is BS imo).

He is a heck of a hitter, though. And good base runner.

A civil suit is possible, but on what grounds?

I am not a lawyer, but people usually bring civil charges on some trumpt up stuff when charges don't get pressed. It is stupid.

It doesn't make sense, what damages were there? She had buyers remorse that she didn't get any money up front?

lol probably. She could make up some cra.p like he violated her right by touching her or something stupid.

Heck, Nicole Brown Simpson's family got a few million for civil charges for wrongful death, even though he was found not guilty

So the top 11 teams in run scored were also the same top 11 teams in OPS. There is your proof of how important of a stat it is

True, the standards of proof are lower in a civil trial.

Yeah, either way, it is BS. If found not guilty in criminal, you shouldn't have to face the trial again. It is a form of double jeopardy, but that is way off topic :)
