Optimism is a wonderfull thing. However in this case it is mindless optimism. This team has no (none, zero, zilch, nada) offense. Pitch around the M&M boys and the rest of the lineup is simply futile. It is mind boggling to think a major league team could get stuck with a roster as poor as this one. These Twins are the doormats of the Central and all of Major League Baseball.

I guess we'll just disagree then. No team rolls over the first game of the season, or second, or third. Sure, they're disappointed, but the effort is there. They've hung in, and scored late a couple times. They all are out there trying.

For sure it's not the greatest lineup. Obviously, after last season, there's no way to improve the entire thing. I have no expectations of a lofty finish this year, but I do think they'll do better than last season. That wouldn't take a whole lot. Shore up the d some, score more runs, and you're in more games. Our pitching is what really concerns me. We've got to start scoring 5 runs a game, we won't win many shutouts.
