I liked him better in the Winter Olympics because he did the skiiing and would always shout out "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" when someone fell.

Overall I really don't have a problem with him, never have.

Are you kidding me? 2 or 3? How about no.

Gord Miller
Jamie Campbell
Rob Faulds
RJ Broadhead
Vic Rauter
Gerry Dobson
Kevin Quinn
Paul Romanuk
Rod Smith

That's off the top of my head. They have all called live play-by-play in their lives.

Yes you are right on. Jamie Campbell is simply not blessed as a good play-by-play guy. Never has been, never will be.

Most of Sportsnet's end of the talent pool is weak to be honest. That's always been the case.

<Put Chris Cuthbert as play-by-play on fly fishing and he'll nail it on his first shot. Talent is talent.

Shulman's got a pretty comfy gig. You won't see him back here.

Jamie is there for one reason, to cater to the grandmother demographic. Throwing out birthday wishes, blowing kisses to Merna in the 3rd row, etc.

You obviously have never heard Rod Black. Now that is positively the worst. He can't even call figure skating for god's sake.

"Vic Rauter rounds out the top 3. "

You need to fall off a tall bridge.

You crossed the line on the Vic Rauter comment. He manages to make curling passable.

Love it when he hosts SportsCentre too.

"Make the final...!!"

Guy's a legend.

He hasnt been nearly as bad as that woman reporter doing the diving events and it sounded like she was doing boxing as well today. Absolute biased homer who knew very little of the sport.

OP looks far too deeply into this. All you need to think is "did listening to this commentator make the game worse". I don't mind Jamie Campbell but then again i'm not listening for his mistakes. I'm watching what he is commentating on and I don't notice anything bad. Stop looking for commentating mistakes and just watch.

I just heard her on the Sportsnet playback thing, very biased indeed, instead of giving props to the winning fighter she was saying how heartbreaking it must be for the Canadian.

Also, Rod Black is terrible, he starts yelling about gymnastics, while the other guy who actually knows his stuff just quietly compliments what they did well.

I don't like Campbell as a play by play guy as he would use terms as "my oh my what a magnificent play" which is tough to listen to. Buck Martinez' voice is the most annoying thing I have ever heard. He constantly botches people's names and has no idea what he is talking about half the time. Bring in Zaun!!

The worst thing about the boxing was how she kept criticizing the boxers for not listening to the coaches..maybe they just arent that good as their opponent.

The diving was by far the worse, blasted all the bottom 4, 5 teams in the synchronized diving events except for Canada, who she found a new way to give a positive compliment about their effort despite them being arguably the worse team there.

Nice to see Matt Devlin (Raps play by play) doing the Rogers Cup... He also did the CFL game last week. American who seems to be fitting in well in Canada.
