I think he's average. Not outstanding though. Definitely not as good as old Mcdonald defensively. And he couldn't hit a fastball to save his life tonight.

How is there an insult intended there. Hinske is the pinch hitter Gonzalez would always use no matter what. He's not that smart or cunning to be trying to insult anyone.

I'm glad you ask. lol. It was his positioning to accept a throw and put down a tag on the stolen base by Heywood in the 2nd and the throw from Parra to nab McCann in the 7th. When I think about it, I seem to recall other games where Willie's positioning was not good during attempted stolen bases. I think he's going Buster Posey on us. It looks like he's afraid to get close to the runner coming into 2B. On the other hand, I believe McDonald will try to block the bag with his foot and/or leg.

Good eye, Ron. I will start looking out for that. (I was an outfielder forever ago, so I left the infield to others...therefore, I know I would not have seen that).

Okay. I wanted to make sure you knew they weren't trying to rub it in. Atlanta isn't a team that does that. Their offense has gotten hot lately, especially against left handers.

Lefties have given them fits for several seasons now and all of a sudden they have solved the puzzle and ripped a couple of pretty good lefty's.

No one is talking about them yet, but this team has some young guys who seem to have found it in the majors all of a sudden.

I hope Gibson has finally come to the conclusion that Collmenter needs to be taken out of the starting rotation, enough about what he had done for us last year, he had been given more chances than anyone else, let's move on, Gibby.

I think Gibby and KT feel he's earned another start after tonight. I think they would like to postpone calling up Bauer or Corbin until at least mid-May or even the end of May.

It almost might be smart for now, instead of forcing that hand too soon. If those two are not quite ready, it could be a terrible long-term decision, which could also affect their future/potential trade value, if it came to that.

Bottom line is, they have a LOT of talent (which we really do, too), but you're right in saying they have "figured it out"...not to mention McCann got his vision situation squared away last year, Hayward is coming into his own, and Kimbrel is really gifted. I know I am leaving out some elements, but we all get the idea.

I think Corbin gets the call first, but I hope they can wait until at least the end of May or whatever date to delay the start of the arb clock.

I also have my eye on Matt Davidson (3B) for hopefully May/June 2013. He needs to work with Matt Williams on some defense.

I would, but it's not an area I'm well versed in.

Just did some checking on mlbtraderumors.com - "Service Time Considerations for Top Prospects". It shows the time for Bauer and Skaggs as late April for team control thru 2018 and a delay until after 2014 for Super Two status if called up mid-late June. I assume Corbin would be the same. Please don't ask me to explain Super Two.

I think it's 2018. Six years of control - 2013, 14, 15, 16 ,17, 18. The last three are arb years. Hey, it's late. LOL.
