Might have to drop mine to 72 wins with reports of Britton still having some sort of shoulder trouble. I think we should all revisit these predictions in the final week of ST/before opening day. Things will certainly be different at that point after seeing how injuries play out and performances of a few players who may or may not be on the roster to start the season as well as players like Chen and Wada who haven't played in MLB or the minors.

I'm thinking of dropping my wins but will wait and see how strong or weak the starting rotation really is. I believe one of GM Dan commitments to us fans during this off season was to sign an additional veteran starting pitcher BUT all he has accomplish regarding that statement is to lose the one veteran we had.

Then sugar coates it with Guthrie for Hammel was a trade-off (YA RIGHT). Pitching in the AL east and against Designated Hitters, I see him pitching 160 to 175 innings with a era around 5.10 and maybe 30 starts MAX (some trade-off).

I would prefer to await the outcome of Spring Training and see how the following pan out:

Injuries and the return from them

Roster construction

Injuries to the competition

I would at the very least like to have those mentioned above to have an understanding of how Dan Duquette wants to play what cards he has drawn.

It's probably cheating to wait until the roster is formed and we know something about the new guys. I'll contact my attorney to find out how much trouble you're in.

Hey Ken, I know how much you appreciate an optimist so I'll go out on a limb here and say we win 81 games.

How's that for optimism?

"Hey Ken, I know how much you appreciate an optimist so I'll go out on a limb here and say we win 81 games."

That statement in and of itself shows "Optimism". You could have shown a pessimistic view by saying we would lose 81 games.

As I had stated last year and the year before, ALL teams generally win 60 Games and Lose 60 Games the difference is what they do with the other 42 games. This is were the improvement is needed, these 42 games. Any improvement above the 9 wins in these 42 Games over last year is the goal.

66 and 96 could be a winner (sadly though).........

I always thought route 66 originated in Chicago and terminated at the Santa Monica pier.....

Ben Nicholson-Smith (sports reporter for MLBtraderumor.com) reported yesterday that he predicts the 2012 Orioles to win in the 60 - 75 range.

Do they actually pay this guy to make such accurate predictions?

He probably started out as a weather forecaster. You can't go wrong if you predict anywhere from a 1% to a 99% chance of precipitation. :)

Great comparison, Thanks

The problem with his prediciton is, if the O's win the 60 then GM Dan fails miserably BUT if they win 75 he's a success and somewhat a hero..........

103-59 regular season. We will sweep the Yankees this year! We win the ALCS and lose to Jeremy Guthrie and his Colorado Rockies in 7 games in the World Series. Biggest surprise AL/NL World Series runs in history! Don't worry though, we will win the World Series in 2013!

That's optimism. Or it's just foolish dreams, depends on how much you have had to drink.

Wish I knew what the deleted message was. I'm sure someone went ballistic over my prediction. Would have loved to read it, too bad we live in a police state where no one is entitled to their own opinions anymore, you can be thrown in jail or executed without a trial or lawyer. Oh, and of course you can not mention the hometown of our high A affiliate, the Keys, or drones will track you down launch a hellfire missile through your living room window.

I think that was the message where you marveled that, backwards, "God" spells "Dog" and that Kimchi, spelled backwards, is "Ichiro."

Maybe I'm mistaken.

Taking a survey on all members predictions, do you really believe in your prediction?
