I agree. I remember years ago when the Dodgers lost the Division Championship to the Padres, even though their records were the same, I always remember a game in late May vs. the Pads where the Dodgers were up by 5 in the 9th, and Little let Lance Carter (i think it was him) lose the lead. The Dodgers lost the game in extra innings. A game like that, we often think, "Well, it's only May, so it's really not important", but that game would hav given us the Division.
But, at the same time, a manager has to let the team lose games in order for him to find out what he has in his players. It's a tough situation, either way.
