I 100% agree.. Many people on this message board value every other teams players more than our own. In example:
Garza has not pitched to a low ERA this season, yet. So because his ERA is over 4.00, his value is not that great.
Pitcher X on X team has pitched to an ERA of 3.20 this season and so he is "improving" and has finally had it click in his head just how to pitch, therefore his value is high...
Now switch the two to the others team
Pitcher X on the Cubs has pitched to an ERA of 3.20 this season, but he has never pitched this well before and other teams know this. He is pitching above his head. His value is low.
Garza, now on team X has pitched to an ERA over 4.00, However, he is a much better pitcher than his ERA suggests, he's won at the highest level of the game and has proven himself in the AL east. So his value is high.
This is the argument that is used on this board all the time to gauge value and these same posters take every negative they can to work against the value of players on their own team. They take all the positives into the equation when talking about other teams players. It's quite pathetic really.
