That guy (Dave Cameron) wrote that big long article, and the commenter in the 2nd comment down nailed one of the biggest reasons that the Angels attendance is down 1500 a game this year over last. Dodgers attendance is up 5000 a game over last year.
That business of "I'm a White Sox fan, therefore I hate the Cubs" might be true in Chicago, and to a lesser extent NY, between Yankees/Mets fans. Not so much in LA-LA Land, though. Los Angeles fans go to both Angels and Dodgers games. And they can only go to one game at a time.

Beisbol is officially eliminated.
If the Pirates sell out their remaining 30 home games, with an average crowd of 37,000 per game, they'd draw 2,431,639 for the year. Therefore, the Outlaw elimination watch is officially launched. 117,738 short of selling out each remaining home date eliminates Outlaw.

Ahem......
Even though I am convinced the Pirate's will beat the streak, perhaps even make a serious run at the post season, my prediction for PNC Attendance is based on events and situations that have nothing to do with baseball.

Baseball is a beautiful game, but life, war and strength of America is our ability to focus on what really matters.

Thank God he was wrong on a whole lot of accounts! He must have went to that website, the doomsday one by the guy who is in a whole lot of trouble for scams. Great site though! I mean, yeah, no duh invest in water. But don't send someone your hard earned cash for such silliness, learn a couple survival skills instead!
Here's a couple tips for those worrying about how they will have water in a major societal meltdown.
Live near a lake or river that's used for commerce (can't dam it up like a stream or creek). Only so much of the shore can be guarded/barriered. And those are easy breeches.
Learn how to make water using garbage bags and vegetation (and if you live around a lot of vegetation, you will never go thirsty)
Learn how to de-salinate ocean or brackish water (it's so easy, a caveman could do it)
Don't invest in water, invest in water holding devices, especially desert dwellers. Rain is good! Investing in water bad!
""Investing in water bad!""
What about investing in a water bed?
The drainage would taste like plastic after it sat in a water bed for a period of time, but you'd hardly care in a real water emergency. And those things hold a lot of water.
surgBuc,
Yes I am very happy I was wrong.
I appreciate the concern that I'd indulge in Doomsday type conspiracy groups or economic collapses. I am far from that.
Actually I believe in America and I feel we are the greatest country on Earth ever. We are living in the greatest of times EVER.
From a standpoint of my faith in Christ I know absolutely no one could possibly know when Christ will return. I know in my heart that Revelations is not a warning, it is inevitable. I also feel the Earth and nature is much stronger than man or all men put together. Eventually our Sun will explode and collapse as is the fate of every star. With that will go this beautiful and this ugly planet we all share. That event is probably tens of millions of years from now, or maybe it just might happen tommorrow.
My Attendance Predication is based on an inevitable show down between Israel and Iran. My daughter is an Army Reservist and she is now going full time. She is a diesel mechanic and they are retrofitting equipment with new technology she can't even tell me about. There is urgency in this that makes me uncomfortable. If something does happen and her and her husband, also now a full time reservist, the Pirates would be the last thing on my mund for sure.
The paid attendance for home game 52 was 25,175. That brings the total attendance to 1,346,814. This projects to a yearly total of 2,097,922. PAV54 retains the lead. The Outlaw elimination watch is down to 105,913.
Hey, I went last night with just Mister Man, but I had them scan the third ticket too.
Just doing my part to help out Outlaw!
Pretty sure they count season tickets if you are there or not. They are already paid for, and the attendance announced is tickets paid for.
Outlaw should just see if the Pirates will sell him 100,000 SRO tickets for a penny.
