Hopefully he can get better against lefties. If he develops the power many think he has, I think he needs to play against whoever is pitching(if he can hit for even a decent average against LHP).

Today Delino DeShields was 2-4 with a double. Also Nash hit another bomb. He now has 9. Santana also was 2-3 so hopefully he is turning this around.

Rough night for Oberholtzer again, though the BB and K numbers looked good. Bomb for Wallace is good to see, he's scuffled out of the gate. Hinze is on a nice little run; .313/.425/.438 during his last 10 games. Ran all over that catcher tonight, LOL.

Musick has an ERA under 3.00 now. It would be nice to get a little something out of that Lindstrom trade (not that losing Lindstrom was the end of the world). Nice to see Santana putting a little run together, and Nash, Meyer and Mier keep on doing more of the same.

Kvasnicka is hitting .091 man, 21 whiffs in 15 games, I have to say that's one of the season's biggest bummers for me so far. Hallock and Dufek haven't exactly lived up to our hopes either. And my gosh, look, Bushue's getting blown up even coming out of the pen. Boy oh boy. DeShields continues to progress though, and I have to say, he and Folty were probably the two guys we would have picked if we could have just two of the guys off that roster have good years and pan out.

Fernando Martinez smacked his 4th HR tonight. He's getting somewhat interesting given that he was once a top-prospect and he's still just 23.

It's just so nice to have such a young talent with good plate discipline and power coming up. People can malign Wade all they want, clearly he wasn't the best, but getting those three great prospects from the Phillies for Pence could end up going down as another great trade in our franchise history.

I haven't heard anything about an injury to Aneury, I think his pitch count was just high. K and BB numbers continue to look good, hopefully he'll put it together soon.

Cosart didn't look very good tonight. 94 pitches to get through four innings. Most of the damage came in the fifth inning when he couldn't get an out. Walks, wild pitches, passed balls, the reliever came in a coughed it up too...just a rough inning. Singleton keeps hitting though, wow.

Alaniz, wow! Stockton got just two singles off him, and the bullpen held them down too. Through five starts, Alaniz has a 2.90 ERA, 7.6 K/9 and 2.0 BB/9, out in that tough league. Jonathan Meyer is up to .311/.350/.500 so far; he's not walking a ton and he still needs to cut down on whiffs, but they haven't been horrible either.

Lopsided-win day for our system; three games with one team getting shutout, and all of them with at least a five run spread. Cruz, nice start, Scott and DeShields keep looking solid, but there's not a lot to watch down there outside of 3D, Folty and Nitro right now.

Wow, what a night for Shuck. Solid night for Clemens and Paredes as well.

Well, he didn't really miss any bats, but good start from Seaton, hopefully he can build off that. Chapman just keeps rolling as well. Wates keeps raking, not that he's worth mentioning or anything...

Jonathan Meyer can't be stopped right now. During his last ten games, he's hitting .325/.325/.450, and six of them have been multi-hit games. He's not without a couple of holes still, but his defense has always been his best asset, so if he can also become a solid average, solid pop hitter as well, he could be a starter in the Majors. Springer is hitting .314 during his last eight games, but he's whiffing at an alarming rate (30 whiffs in 22 games so far). He's been quite good on the bases so far, if nothing else (6-for-6 in SB). And just an FYI, Nash hasn't played the last two games (Friday and Saturday). It could just be some time off since he was really scuffling recently after the hot start, but if he misses tonight then we may have to assume he's banged up or something.

John Hinson was our 13th pick last season, in case anyone forgot. He's a shortstop, though he played 2B with DeShields DHing tonight. He put up a decent .284/.348/.389 showing in Tri-City last year. Name to watch out of the corner of your eye maybe. Kvasnicka went 0-for-4 tonight, knocking him down to .085. He has a .262 OPS. Yes, OPS. Blah. Nitro is pitching tomorrow night if I'm not mistaken. Or, tomorrow afternoon I guess.

very little there to be displeased with

Meyer is looking very promising. I just have to remind myself that it is Lancaster.

Our pitching does seem to hold some promise as well.

Another great outing from Keuchel. I really like his chances to at least stick in a Major League bullpen. His whiff rate is much higher against LHH than RHH, so he certainly could be a LOOGY, at least, it seems.

The pitcher that beat Corpus? Yeah, Barret Loux again. Eight whiffs and one walk in six innings. ERA sits at 1.63 now. Thanks Wade. Bright side today is that that's Wates' third XBH in his last six games, and Villar is hitting .303/.324/.394 over his last nine games.

There we go, that's what we want from the boys at Lancaster, hopefully today will help jumpstart Santana and get Mier and Springer back into a groove. Doran wasn't as good today, but I'm glad at least that he didn't implode and start walking people left and right. Baby steps. Also, yes, Nash was out of the lineup again, that's three days in the row now, not listed as Disabled currently though (David Martinez and Grant Hogue are though, if anyone cares.)

Nitro not at sharp today. He had allowed just one run through five, but things fell apart in the sixth. In fairness, he had the two outs and then Grills came in, walked the bases loaded, two run single, so if he had been left in to try to clean it up, who knows, maybe he gets out of it and it's 2 ER in 6.0 IP. So he wasn't horrible or anything. Sweet <crap, Bushue's ERA is up to 18.82 now, that's...deflating. Duffy is a 3B prospect with a .293/.343/.435 line so far, so...that's something I guess.

FYI, I hadn't seen Daniel Adamson in a game in a while, and then I couldn't even find him on one of our rosters. Doing a manual search on MiLB.com pulled up his profile, and he's listed as "Status: Released" so...there you go, he's no more I guess.

Hey, roster moves, just noticed them while looking for Daniel Adamson:

1. Brett Oberholtzer promoted to AAA Oklahoma City
2. Jonnathan Aristil demoted to AA Corpus Christi
3. Alex Sogard promoted to AA Corpus Christi

I'm guessing that was to square up the rosters with Lyles being called up. As you may have noticed, Brad Dydalewicz has been in Lancaster for a few days, so he's the replacement for Sogard I believe. There you go. Makes you wonder if Lyles might be sticking around the Majors for a while, or if Oberholtzer is just meant to be a temp in AAA.

I know that Dallas does not have the profile of someone everyone falls in love with. He just seems to get it done. If he can keep up the steady progress he will look good at the back end of our rotation replacing Happ.

Not a great first start for Oberholtzer in AAA. One of the runs scored after he left, for what it's worth. Shuck is currently hitting .343/.397/.418 and has a 1.001 OPS in his last ten games.

Bomb for Hinze, not much else happening with Corpus tonight. Singleton had the night off, by the way.

Lexington lost in the 12th inning. But who cares? Kvasnicka! May this game jumpstart you, man. John Hinson is mildly intriguing as well, showed a decent stick in Tri-City last year, though he doesn't look to be a big power guy. Hallock has me baffled, I figured he'd be more on the Tropeano path and blaze right through the highschoolers and late-round picks in A-ball. Don't know what to think about him right now.

FYI, Lexington has tomorrow night off.
