Only thing is....can we at least have an honest discussion about this?? Mauer has hit 30 balls on the ground in play. That is absurd. Just five have made it through the infield. I know I seen it! I even looked it up and made a thread about. Is it too much to ask him to pull a fly ball or a line drive into the outfield? At this point I would settle for a routine fly to RF.

Pitchers pitches or not, fact remains they were strikes. Swing the bat, put the ball in the air, and drive in Carroll. For a player of Mauer's caliber, it should be as easy as that. Sorry. I've seen lots of players far worse than Mauer succeed in that.

I don't mind complaining if the ball ends up down the middle and he lets it go...that frustrates me too. But the pitches he got in that AB were not that easy to make anything of. Was I disappoint he couldn't get Carroll in? Sure...but he wasn't given much to work with.
