What if I told you Justin was bipolar, or something? Would what he does become ok? Hey, he has an excuse then too

I have no idea who Enos Cabell is.

But I do have empathy for people who have actual ailments which cause their behavior.

How about lying after being caught. I can see mistaken, but to continue a lie?????

If you knew for a fact that he was bipolar, then yes, that would make a difference. But there is no way for you to know this so it's a moot point.

Where I have a problem with this, is making an excuse. Saying AG is fine doing what he does, because he has a medical condition, IMO makes this completely different.

People have opinions, people do things wrong, people are jerks. Not because they are sick, but because they have opinions, do things wrong, and are jerks.

If someone can't handle the simple thought that someone else might have a differing opinion (for any reason), they shouldn't go to a place where they will be subjected to opinion

This isn't a statement designed to limit someone's access to these places, just a call to understand where you are going, and accept it before you get there.

That is my point though, it shouldn't matter. He wouldn't get special treatment in the real world, why should he here?

So please give AG some slack. There is a reason he behaves this way.>>>
There is a "reason" everyone behaves the way they do. If you give AG "slack" you must give EVERYONE slack. There are no special classes here for the mentally challenged.
If you want to defend AG here, then YOU MUST DEFEND EVERYONE, no matter what they do.
Think about it. You can NOT defend one, while you attack another.
Unless one of these idiots is your child, you have no right to pick and choose who should be coddled and who should not. You want to defend one jerk, you better be ready to defend EVERY Jerk. We should give one jerk a break because you feel sorry for him?
I know you are smarter than that sue.

He changed the meaning of the word. I was making a point that the early part of the season doesn't mean much and he wanted to discredit the point by attacking me and attaching a label that made zero sense.

It's not an uncommon tactic by a person who doesn't have a point.

When you say the same thing over and over again that is flat out wrong and flat out stupid. You should be looking at yourself rather than outside yourself.

The lack of knowledge regarding Trumbo and 3rd base has unprecedented. That's saying something.

This level of hostility was started by someone who called me an idiot. Until then I was civil.

The hypocrisy of this crown is only exceeded by ignorance.

On this thread AngelsCubs said my takes were BS. Did I say a single bad word to him about that.

People dish and they don't expect to get it back.

Don't give me special treatment, but you should get on the person who starts it, and the 20 people who agree with him.

Am I wrong for saying that I think Trumbo deserves more than 3 games before anyone can unequivocally say he "can't play 3rd base"? Or is that stupid to say? If so, since it is MY opinion, does that make me stupid? This isn't even a fine line, when you say someone's opinion is stupid, you ARE calling them stupid.

Should I stop saying what I believe, just because somebody on here may believe something different? What kid of person would that make me? If that is going to be acceptable, we should all start teaching our kids to never share their opinions, because someone will think it is stupid.

Remember, at one time, a large faction of the baseball world thought the Moneyball concept, and advanced stats were stupid.

You are wrong, but it doesn't make you stupid. It makes you a fan.

In Trumbo we have a fan favorite who is off to a great start. Angel fans perceive a weakness at third base and were sold a bill of goods by our management team and announcers that Trumbo could fill it.

I don't expect people to let it go easily. But this allusion is crumbling and they fight it more ferociously. It's the pro Trumbo crowd that has increased the hostility. Which is only natural when you think about it. When data and hope no longer becomes viable, what's left? Frustration. You saw it yesterday with all these hate threads.

I'm responding. Which again is only natural.

The situation is the same. I don't know how to get Trumbo more ABs.

And do we know "for a fact" that AG has this Aspergers disease? HOW do we know, other than he told us - did he provide proof of it?
I'm sure he does have it, but we don't know anymore about him than we do about anyone else on this board, We only know what they tell us.

I have to agree with angelscubs - if you're going to defend one, you have to defend every one that comes on here and acts like a jerk, no matter who they are.

The only reason I'm even involved in this conversation right now, is because special treatment was invoked. I understand what you say about bringing up everybody. I don't always read Angelscubs posts, because 99 of 100 are about how awful MS is, and it gets old. I don't read most of yours, because most are about "Trumbo can't play 3rd" or "Wells stinks" and it gets old. You choose to share your opinion, and I choose to not read or respond if I don't agree.

There are a few on here that everyone rightfully ignores. I think on the whole, too many people are way too emotionally invested in the Trumbo/Callaspo debate.

I think as fans, we always ask players to do what is best for the team. So I have never understood why if the team struggles for a week, everyone goes bat carp crazy about doing this or that. Trumbo at 3rd can help this team, for about 40-50 games. Those are ones that AC wouldn't play anyway on a Scioscia team.

I think in general, everyone just needs to chill out, and enjoy. Nobody is stupid, idiotic, a know nothing when it comes to baseball. Just share your thoughts, and remember that nobody would care to argue so much if the team was 8-2 or 7-3

I'm not wrong, that's where there is a flaw. It is MY opinion. I'm not wrong for sharing my opinion. You will never convince me otherwise.

Didn't you know - the only opinion that's supposed to count on the board is ag's. If you don't agree, then you're stupid, an idiot and/or don't know anything about baseball.

Opinions can be wrong. Mine also. It's my opinion you are wrong.

As far as the redundancy of Trumbo and Wells. You are right.

I'm practicing the Monty Python school of arguments. It's funny you should read it.

(Walk down the corridor)
M: (Knock)
A: Come in.
M: Ah, Is this the right room for an argument?
A: I told you once.
M: No you haven't.
A: Yes I have.
M: When?
A: Just now.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: You didn't
A: I did!
M: You didn't!
A: I'm telling you I did!
M: You did not!!
A: Oh, I'm sorry, just one moment. Is this a five minute argument or the full half hour?
M: Oh, just the five minutes.
A: Ah, thank you. Anyway, I did.
M: You most certainly did not.
A: Look, let's get this thing clear; I quite definitely told you.
M: No you did not.
A: Yes I did.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: You didn't.
A: Did.
M: Oh look, this isn't an argument.
A: Yes it is.
M: No it isn't. It's just contradiction.
A: No it isn't.
M: It is!
A: It is not.
M: Look, you just contradicted me.
A: I did not.
M: Oh you did!!
A: No, no, no.
M: You did just then.
A: Nonsense!
M: Oh, this is futile!
A: No it isn't.
M: I came here for a good argument.
A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
A: Yes it is!
M: No it isn't!

A: Yes it is!
M: Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes.
(short pause)
A: No it isn't.
M: It is.
A: Not at all.
M: Now look.
A: (Rings bell) Good Morning.
M: What?
A: That's it. Good morning.
M: I was just getting interested.
A: Sorry, the five minutes is up.
M: That was never five minutes!
A: I'm afraid it was.
M: It wasn't.
Pause
A: I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to argue anymore.
M: What?!
A: If you want me to go on arguing, you'll have to pay for another five minutes.
M: Yes, but that was never five minutes, just now. Oh come on!
A: (Hums)
M: Look, this is ridiculous.
A: I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid!
M: Oh, all right.
(pays money)
A: Thank you.
short pause
M: Well?
A: Well what?
M: That wasn't really five minutes, just now.
A: I told you, I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid.
M: I just paid!
A: No you didn't.
M: I DID!
A: No you didn't.
M: Look, I don't want to argue about that.
A: Well, you didn't pay.
M: Aha. If I didn't pay, why are you arguing? I Got you!
A: No you haven't.
M: Yes I have. If you're arguing, I must have paid.
A: Not necessarily. I could be arguing in my spare time.
M: Oh I've had enough of this.
A: No you haven't.
M: Oh Shut up.

(Walks down the stairs. Opens door.)

M: I want to complain.
C: You want to complain! Look at these shoes. I've only had them three weeks and the heels are worn right through.
M: No, I want to complain about...
C: If you complain nothing happens, you might as well not bother.
M: Oh!
C: Oh my back hurts, it's not a very fine day and I'm sick and tired of this office.

(Slams door. walks down corridor, opens next door.)

M: Hello, I want to... Ooooh!
H: No, no, no. Hold your head like this, then go Waaah. Try it again.
M: uuuwwhh!!
H: Better, Better, but Waah, Waah! Put your hand there.
M: No.
H: Now..
M: Waaaaah!!!
H: Good, Good! That's it.
M: Stop hitting me!!
H: What?
M: Stop hitting me!!
H: Stop hitting you?
M: Yes!
H: Why did you come in here then?
M: I wanted to complain.
H: Oh no, that's next door. It's being-hit-on-the-head lessons in here.
M: What a stupid concept.

He has said that this is a board, and people don't talk or act this way in person. So I guess he does not act or talk this way in person, but only on the board, illness or not.
