<<but I sure wish we had a lock at 2B.>>

If we weren't paying Inge and we had a full time DH, Raburn would handily win the every day 2B gig. Without question.

Unfortunately, we have a veteran player who wants to play 2B and a DH spot no one really wants, which makes things a bit more complicated.

Again, Raburn has never been a starter, and has never proved to be a consistent MLB player.

Leyland has always been careful to put him in at times where he is more likely to succeed.

Instead of your phrase, "handily win," I would suggest "struggle mightily." That is what Raburn does when he gets a longer leash.

IMHO, of course.

<<Raburn has never been a starter>>

By never, do you mean 326 times?

What "consistent" options do you have at 2B?

Santiago is "consistantly" a .260 hitter with a mid to high .600 OPS.

Inge had that really really bad season last year so he isn't just consistently bad anymore.

"More ad hominem vitriol from you?"

"ad hominem" - Are you trying to steal ty mccobb's catch phrase?? ;) I think he's got that one trademarked around these parts.

(no offense mccobb - I'm just funnin')

I see now why you didn't take my apology for unknowingly bullying you.

"Let me ask you this. Suppose you and I disagreed on something, where I was actually the one who was wrong. (it could happen)."

Couldn't you simply live with that? Or is there something in your make up that requires you to relentlessly attempt to banish any POV that you personally fail to embrace? I've just never seen such and obsession for one to have in context with how their opponents are REQUIRED to conduct themselves."

I feel you have me horribly misread.

Ever since I first confronted you about your choice of topics to talk about on here, and was under the impression that you were trolling, and falsely labeled you as such (which I DID apologize for), you have rode me relentlessly about me being some kind of control freak, and wanting to control what people do and say, because you think I am somehow unable to process and comprehend people who have different opinions from mine.

I, 100%, do NOT feel this is true, nor have I really had anyone tell me this before, on here or in my life (except perhaps Jaydub, but he's a whiny child that EVERYONE wants to go away).

I have apologized for calling you a troll, I have apologized for bullying you over your Jhew remarks.

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME?

"Couldn't you simply live with that?"

Yes, absolutely. What specifically do I do that I haven't apologized for makes you think I won't?

"Or is there something in your make up that requires you to relentlessly attempt to banish any POV that you personally fail to embrace?"

I see how you could see it like that. I apologized for bullying you over topics, which I realized I was doing, and then I asked you to just leave me alone, and I would just put you on ignore as an attempt to keep me from bullying you again. I asked that you just ignore me and don't refer to me so I don't get drawn into a fight with you again. Its not that I want to banish any point of views, I just didn't want to fight with you anymore.

For the record, I don't think its your topics I necessarily disagree with, but rather the way you present them.

Like this: "'m starting to believe that one's support of Brandon Inge has a great deal in common with the way a christian's faith that Jesus is the supernatural son of their God, is unshakable.

Despite there not being one tangible shred of evidence to support their argument, they stubbornly intend to continue to believe, simply because they want to believe. End of story.

I'll be praying for both, lol"

Why would you chose to state your view on Inge like that? Why draw religion into this topic needlessly? You have to know that this is a very heavy slam against Christians. To me, its seems like you are trying to start a fight or draw some out to get into a fight with you over this, so you can tell them your opinion on their faith.

Please tell me your side because I would like to understand you more.

Santiago has not been and will not be an everyday guy. Not to say he absolutely couldn't do it, but that's been the proclamation his entire career.

I was sarcastically telling you what "consistent" options we had for second base.

"By never, do you mean 326 times?"

You know precisely what I mean.

He has never been penciled in at a position he could call his own.

He is merely a utility guy.

Hopefully, he does get a chance this year to play more consistently and I hope he does very well. But I'm not putting any money on it.

With this remark you leave no doubt, in my mind, you are a dolt.

Would you call Ben Zobrist a utility guy as well?
