I really do use the thing, but it apparently is about as bad a speller as I am. I can't spell a lot of words if you spot me the first three syllables.

Sometimes I'll spell check once and make the corrections, notice something at the bottom, check again, and wind up canceling the first word correction somehow..just brilliant is all I can say..just have to put up with it I guess.

I've already been to high school and college..they don't want me back any more than some posters on here want me here.

Nights like tonite make you think that some of these guys could have that break out year. Right now Freeman's potential looks to be phenomenal! Such a strong kid & still maturing. The announcers gave the hitting coaches some credit & I think rightly so. Have I misspelled anyting......LOL

From the beginning I thought Francisco looked like the type of guy who might hit .270/.310/.500, and it looks about right so far.

<He won't hit for crazy average, and will rarely walk, but he will knock the hell out of some baseball.

I hope we haven't spoken in the wrong tense or used a word in the wrong vernacular. I'm trying to figure out how it matters when talking about baseball, but evidently it does.

There is a distinct possibility the Braves may have several players who have coming out parties this season; Minor, Heyward, Freeman, Beachy, and Prado may have a comeback season. If McCann has anything close to a normal season for him as well as Bourne, well the line up will be rather potent.

Then the bullpen with Kimbril, O'Flaherty and Venters with Medlen giving them a bridge might have a chance at being a really salty group this year.

It's early and by next week the Gods of Baseball may cut our lifeline off and have us in misery, but for now the good ship Braves is under sail with clear skies and calm seas all around.

Remember when you were really worried in Spring training? This must be nice after having those worries.

Now the hard part of the team staying healthy and consistent as much as possible this year. But this start has been fun.

We'll talk about that more down the road when Chipper has played over 100 games this year. Which he will. (:

It will be interesting to see how much Juan contributes this year and if the Reds continue to struggle on offense. Regardless it seemed like he needed a change of scenery because he and the Reds seemed to be tired of each other.

I do remember. I Tthought the team looked awful all spring. They're beginning to play a lot better now.

I just heard the MLB network guys say Freeman was no Curtis Granderson. I personally would rather have Freeman now than Granderson. But I'm rarely right in my choice of players.

Granderson is a great player. Freeman has a bright future though. Who knows what his ceiling is. Granderson is 31 so he's been around long enough to figure everything out. Freddie is just getting started.

Here'something for discussion; what if Francisco plays better and better, as in keeps hitting a ton?

Do they reinsert Jones if he isn't playing as well?

Jones will play no matter what when he physically can. No way they go near that since it's his last year. I'm not worried about him hitting, just staying in the line-up. I know you might not feel the same.

I don't think Juan will play well enough to earn time over Chipper but he could do enough this year that he has a chance for a lot of time at 3B next year. I still see the job as Prado's depending on who they can pick up via free agency when internal options won't do. But that's why they got Francisco, so they could have another option next year for either a Hinske replacement or someone who sees more playing time than that.

*I just heard the MLB network guys say Freeman was no Curtis Granderson. *

Conspiracy theories aside, that doesn't surprise me. I bet it was Mitch Williams, it's gotta be Mitch Williams. Unless you're paraphrasing. If you aren't then it's Mitch, cause only he would say something exactly like that.

Well, there is no doubt, IMO, that Granderson is better than Freeman. What I'm contesting is even making the comparison at all. What would make someone say that? What's the point? Except to disrespect Freeman's performance, notice I didn't say disrespect Freeman. It was just a really dumb comment.
