Chippers worst year/years are about as good as Delmons best. I agree with six. Jones has an .816 OPS over the last 3 and Delmon has a .758.

Add to that the fact that the ladies will love him (trust me) it will make the Brandon release that much smoother. For all of us.

The problem is Chipper isn't Chipper anymore. He used to be Chipper. But now...he's not Chipper. Delmon Young is still Delmon Young, but Chipper Jones is someone else...now.

Todays Chipper is still better than todays Delmon. I get your point though. I was not 100% serious with that last post. Delmon will be OK as a DH (worse than even Raburn as a LFer) and if Young stinks we only have to put up with it for 1 season.

Chipper Jones is trying to just hang on to collect that last year of his contract. He won't Gil Meche it.

Chipper clarified his comments today

"Jones said yesterday that he's not sure if he'll make it through the season, but he was just joking, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman. "It was tongue and cheek. I was kidding," Jones said. "I just got done playing eight innings with three at-bats. I was a little tired. I wasn't by any means suggesting I couldn't make it through the season.""

<It would be a shame because I've always enjoyed watching him play and he seems like a pretty classy guy. My guess is that if he does decide to retire he's well on his way to coopertown.>

I could not agree more and disagree more in these two lines.

Yes, Cooperstown bound.

Classy guy? No. He's ripped his teammates in the past and when somebody ripped him for not working hard (John Smoltz) he ripped that teammate too. He has to be the main focus of the Atlanta Braves or he'll whine, gripe, and always run his mouth about retirement.

Also, the Braves diehards are actually tired of this antics plus the whole "I need to take a day off today after playing 3 straight games" or "my pinky hurts. I need to sit out a day" yet he'll run his mouth and scream that Jayson Heyward's knee injury should not be an excuse of having him out in the lineup and how everybody must grow a pair down the stretch and play (while he is sitting on the bench complaining of having a cold, yet laughing).

Classy guy my rear.

It amuses me that the Braves fans would be tired of hearing that from a long time player, while most Tiger fans would be thrilled to hear that out of Inge...

Obviously we as Tiger fan's would and should be thrilled if and when the Brandon needs time off.

In Chippers case: Not so much.

Chipper has more of a love/hate relationship with Atlanta than some think. He's pretty popular with the ladies, especially <Hooters waitresses, but most of the Braves fan base that are guys are pretty much tired with his antics. They've gone on back and forth since 2003, ironically the last year Sheffield was here. He was "banged up" and had one of his worst seasons to date while Sheffield was putting up MVP numbers and Chipper constantly griped about needless junk and hinted retirement back then.

Sheffield leaves and pretty much Chipper becomes "the guy," happy and not complaining. Then Jeff Francoeur takes over Atlanta for the few years because he was an Atlanta product. Chipper gripes again until Francoeur was pretty much shipped out of here. He gets happy again until Heyward comes up.

Now it is "if you question me, I will rip you a new one because I am the best Brave player since Hank Aaron" when it comes to Chipper Jones. His antics are more tiresome than Inges, even though he has actually done something at the plate.

Comparisons of Inge & Chipper:

Both loved by the female fan bases while overall disliked by the male fan bases. You either love the guy or hate the guy. Both say nonsensical junk. Both think they are legends in their own minds.

Two massive differences:
1. Inge will do anything to play while Chipper runs around b*tching about others not s*cking it up to play and then pulls the same cr*p. I'll give Inge that one.

2. Chipper is headed to the HOF and Inge.........................well, probably not.

HAha. Yup.

Chipper is a jerk who is HOF bound because he could and still can play.

Inge is a jerk who was average at best at his best and thinks he is on the same level as Cabby, Avila, Raburn (It's true, Raburn is a better ball player) Prince, etc.... HE IS NOT AND NEVER WAS.

If Inge win's the 2b spot in spring, good for him. his glove will help there. His sorry <ass check swing K bat won't. But just remember, The Brandon was ill and injured last year. He is primed for a .800+ OPS season with his 20+ pounds of Barry Bonds like muscle.

I don't think he can play that much. Fredi needs to take him out of the #3 hole. Boy, that sounds familiar.

But yes, HOF bound. But as for a leader, I wouldn't want him leading any team. He's a ****ing hypocrite.

I'd trade Bubba for Chipper Jones even AFTER CJ retires.
