I agree with you, Wgman, there's something terribly wrong with this team, and BVD, obivously, is not capable of "fixing" it .
Who knows how the players would react, but they would "have" to feel the FO is doing "something" in an effort to help . It would, at least, indicate they're willing to make "big" changes !
Plus, it would not be "expected" .
Well, like Wgman said, you can't fire the entire team . Besides, a number of players have been here awile, and "never" had a problem "attached" to their names .
And, again like Wgman said, I too can't imagine them bringing BVD back next year .......... so, why not try it ?
The fact that he released "that" statement, indicates he's, at least, "aware" of how many, in Red Sox Nation, want BVD gone .
BTW, "BVD" because he reminds me of old underwear, that "stinks" and needs to "tossed out" !
"How bout fire bobby v right now while the team has a chance..."
That's it, fire Valentine and all the guys on the DL will magically heal overnight, all hitters will bat over .400 while the starters will throw shutouts from here on out. You found the secret to success.

There is no way all this is his fault, but as they say, "you can't fire all the players." I think at this point if I were ownership and I thought there was any chance they could salvage this season, I'd fire him now. I don't think they can bring him back after this horrible a season anyhow, so why not do it now and see what happens
They COULD catch fire! It is Possible.I'm sure a lot of you remember Joe Morgan. (Took over after the AS break)
