It's a wild thing, ain't it Heat? Anxiety is rough.

I also find I'm at my best when working with others who experience emotional difficulties. I Have been teaching in Special Education for almost 10 years now and specialize in dealing with students whose qualifying disability is Emotional Disturbance.

I once heard it said that "Your misery becomes your ministry." Amen to that.

"Unless you have suffered from some sort of trauma, depression is for weak minded people"

Congratulations. You've just sewn up The "Idiot of the Day" award.

Get a clue dipsh*t.

"Unless you have suffered from some sort of trauma, depression is for weak minded people."

So much ignorance and cruelty wrapped up in one little sentence. I hope no one in your family ever suffers from emotional issues and/or mental illness and has to deal with your judgmental *ssh0lery.

You have no idea how horribly ignorant that comment is.

Second the notion here. Ive never suffered major emotional trauma. I make a great living. Trust me, Im not weak minded, I think my 30 hr days of residency can speak for that. But I work a stressful job in the ER and over the years it became harder and harder to turn the stress off when I left work. 2 years ago I was a mess. I was treated for anxiety with therapy, worked through healthy solutions for my stress, and am a much better man today.

As soon as I read Huffs reason for the DL I immediately knew there would be a huge negative reaction. The guy is going through immense failure in his career as well as in his life (divorce). Its only human for him to have difficulty with his struggles, and not dealing with it only makes everything worse and worse.

I wholey suspect Huff to be a better player if and when he can work through any anxiety, depression, or substance abuse issues he may have.

"Huff’s personal life is going through upheaval as well. According to court records from Hillsborough County, Fla., his wife, Baubi, filed for divorce on Jan. 31. The couple has been married since 1997 and has two young sons. The latest case management conference between the parties was held April 11"

Going through this divorce stuff with children involved and professional difficulties at the same time can buckle a man at the knees........I've been there and haven't been the same since.

Thanks for your willingness to speak up. My guess is that there are more of us here who go through this than admit it (or know they suffer from it).

Just ask sandoval whose 2010 was mired in a divorce at the age of 22 with a daughter involved IN ANOTHER COUNTRY...amazing how people didn't cut him any slack then...

I think what you're arguing against is laziness, not depression. There's a huge difference between simply feeling a little bit down in the dumps and suffering from clinical depression or anxiety. It's legitimately debilitating. If you haven't suffered from it, I don't expect you to understand.
