WOW....

I didn't think they'd have the balls to do it. Kudos.

I felt like a DL trip or an excuse filled round of more chances was on the way. I guess Delgado stays for now.

JJ has two choices now.

1. Find his stuff, or any stuff really, and make a comeback.

2. Fade into nothingness. In his current road he wont hold up at AAA.

I don't know if I'm going to be in the minority on this one, but I think they should still demote Delgado and promote Teheren when Huddy comes back.

Hopefully it turns out better than it did with Frenchy, where he can come back and actually help the club. Seeing this though makes me think that when they optioned Frenchy to Double-A, man that was disrespectful.

I do like the move though, like someone else said, it shows they aren't fooling around; they really think they can win this year, which is always good to see or hear.

It's just crazy how far JJ has fallen. I didn't even think they'd demote him and flat out say his struggles aren't injury related. I figured a DL stint and a call back. Again though, it shows they're serious about winning this year. They obviously didn't think a 2 week DL stint was going to help him sort out his issues and they don't want him coming back and losing more games.

Man, they really dropped the ball last trade deadline.

This is a good move. I like JJ but he definitely needed some work and needed to get his game back. Hopefully he will return to form. Kudos to the Braves for taking the necessary action right from the beginning and not allowing it to continue on like they did with Derek Lowe last year.

Thank goodness!! The team has little chance to win when he starts the game. I actually felt bad for him last night. Hopefully he can go to AAA where he doesn't have as much pressure to win. He can actually work on mechanics and regain confidence in his knee. The Braves have too many good starting options to let him lose every 5th game for them.

I have a feeling that this was a move made by Frank Wren. The quote from Fredi was that you don't send a guy that has been so important to the team back to AAA when he is struggling. I was yelling at the TV when they quoted him on that statement...then I went to bed. Fredi messes around with Heyward last year and Pastornicky this year yet he doesn't want to send a horrible pitcher to AAA....makes no sense.

It will be interesting to see what the corresponding move will be. Do they go ahead and activate Hudson or do they add Yohan Flande to the 40 man roster and call him up? He has been lights out at AAA so far. I saw him pitch on Friday and the minor league hitters didn't have a chance against him.

I had a feeling he would be ok with the move. He seems like a great kid and I hope he does find himself. He is a good pitcher when he is on his game.

And, somewhere in California, there is an Agent named Boras that is crying.

Jurrjens said after game his knee's fine, health's fine.
Said he doesn't know why he's in "funk" but will keep working.

Bo doubt Wren made the (quick) call............

Tweeted by Mark Bowman:
After the game, Fredi said he was not going to make a crazy decision. Ten minutes later, the Braves made the announcement.

This scares me as it shows Fredi has no clue and Wren runs the club. Perhaps Wren is on speaker during the game telling Fredi what to do.
And, it might have been Wren informing Bourn to hurry up and 'wipe' and get our there, the inning is over, and we need you to play center field again.

Don't we have time to see what the next move will be with a day off on Thursday?

Tuesday - Minor
Wednesday - Beachy
Thursday - Off day
Friday - Hanson (extra day rest)
Saturday - Delgado (extra day rest)
Sunday - Minor (reg rest)
Monday - Beachy (reg rest)
Tuesday - Flande/Teheran/Hudson

Also - i wouldn't say that Fredi not giving anything away before an official announcement is made is him not having any say in the decision - they probably want to have a think about it, talk to the player and then announce it. ie the correct way. Of course, everyone will just continue to bash Fredi no matter if he does things the right way or not.

Jurrjens immediately after game: "For now, I’m not the same guy I used to be. Just going to keep fighting.”

If you read that 2nd tweet it said that a corresponding move will come tomorrow (today).

Of course Fredi could have been misquoted but the way his statement read was that he had no intention of demoting JJ. Had he known beforehand he would have likely given a vague quote about how "we will continue to evaluate the club on a daily basis", etc. Believe what you want but the guy is really a poor manager.

Are they winning in spite of him or because of him? I think the former.
