like I said, Hairston can hit lefties, he has pop..Ike is a good hitter but looks lost at the plate. Yes, Hairston is bench player but I have more confidende in him over Ike at the moment.

As pathetic as Ike has been lately, he actually HAS hit lefties before.

I think his last HR was off a lefty.

He's just gotta find a way to NOT let his butt go in one direction while the rest of him is going another...

That certainly seems to be the philosophy behind it but the fact is Hairston hasn't hit lefties in three years:

2010: .233 AVG, .655 OPS
2011: .247 AVG, .702 OPS
2012 so far: .176 AVG, .529 OPS

Maybe we need to get ourselves someone who has actually done it recently.

Truthfully I didn't know those numbers lol all I really remember is his Brian Wilson homerun against the Giants... but he's in there to hit against lefties.. but moreover, I feel like he'll hit the ball unlike Ike right now who everytime comes up I expect to strikeout.

I think Ike is really pressing because his average is so low. TC should tell him to relax, forget his numbers and the past 3 weeks and tell him his season starts now.

Ike looks pathetic but there is hope. There is no hope that baxter or hairston will ever be better than what they have already been.

well said.

Collins said he planing on playing Valderspin in the outfield tomorrow . He should of played him today as well instead of Hairston. He can use all the experience he can get while he has the opportunity.

There is hope for Ike, but for the time being not so much. Right now he seems like an automatic out. I'm confident he will get back on track eventually, but until I see some positive signs I have no hope he will add anything to our offense tonight

I agree with that, but that doesn't make it less frustrating to watch until it turns around

I didn't hear that. Did he say where? I hope it is not in place of kirk to rest him. Is tomorrow a lefty ? I did not look yet.

I just heard it on wfan . No he is not replacing Kirk. It will be Kirk Valdespin and Duda in the oufield.

Well, I, for one, am happy Collins is mixing up the lineup now. If Ike wants to hit 4th, he has to be much better than what he's been!
