Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!
Here's where we separate the notes from the noise,
the men from the boys, the rose from the poison ivy.

Back in the bunch, I came up with a hunch, this was your up and at 'em day.
It's one of those spells, when you hear the right bells,
and your horoscope tells you to say,
"Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!"

I hear those trumpets begin to blare, and now I'm Washington upon the Delaware.

Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!
Here's where we separate the duck from the quack,
the ace from the pack, the pip from the macintoshes,

Back in the group, I came up with the scoop, this was a time to rise and say,
"I got in my eye such a jubilant sky, that the Fourth of July will seem gray!
Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!"

As our investments begin to grow, to quote from Davey Crockett at the Alamo,

"Will everyone here kindly step to the rear and let a winner lead the way!"
Here he comes and things are thumbs up! He shows the bums up, all down the way.
Here he comes, a heck of a fella, a follow-his-smella. I say, Okay!

There he goes, and boy it shows up. Up on your toes up! Just echo a strain.
Just get in step behind a wreck.

For Bill and Pat and cheer old fashioned guts and gumption,
caviar and pasta for dinner - a winner will lead the way!

gooseBuc,

Thank you for sharing that poem, verse, lyric or prose. It is pleasantly appealing and easily read.

Now why is there a familiarity to this?

For some reason, this sounds like something associated with JAZZ. Am I wrong?

Mong

I thought account/name changes rendered a member ineligible to participate in the SSS?

""Would you kindly update my name from "Wieterless" to "Sanoless" at the next roll call/post?""

I actually looked at that early this morning, when I updated the roll. And, at the time, I almost changed it from Wieterless to Art Brut.

I don't know why, exactly, I didn't change it. But, would Art Brut work? That way, no matter what happens in the future, your name on the SSS roll would be constant.

Because I could see a situation in June where the Nats pass on Harper. And so does Huntington. (Which I would appluad, myself, as I think that overhyped little goofball isn't going to wind up worth 1/10th the $15M-$20M it's going to take some team to sign him.)

But, others wouldn't appreciate the sense of passing on Harper. So, I can see a Harperless in your future.

So, I'll change it to Art Brut, if it's all the same to you.

Can I get the Challenge league changed to "Scorp's PMB Challenge League"?

Also, can we get doughnuts at the next meeting? I'm not really a big fan of bagels, especially when no one springs for cream cheese.

Well, when I bought those bagels, I thought they were donunts. They looked like donuts to me. They were round, and had holes in the center.

I was wondering why they were packaged so strangely.

It's all the same in my opinion. Doughnuts are the hot minor league prospects of the bagel world. Bagels are the veteran doughnuts that have been around for awhile, eligible to sign elsewhere, like the bagel shop down the road, rather than the Dunkin Donuts shop that they came up with.

Of course, that batch of bagels you bought was the Jeromy Burnitz/Joe Randa free agent class of bagels.

By that you mean they were on the verge of being thrown out before they were told they could be disguised as bagels and fool someone long enough to be bought?

Yes.

I actually saw one of the bagels walk up to Moose after the meeting and personally thank him for believing in the bagel.
