Probably not important, but the Royals released Quintero today.

I have to say with Lunhow pulling of the trades he is pulling i can see big returns on players like Wandy Brett Jed and Brandon.

JS

Who would have thought Carlos Lee could get anything in return much less Matt Dominguez and the AA Sp?

JS

The Farm system should be in the top ranks if they can get some returns like Lunhow has been getting.

I cant wait to see whats next

I mean he is really selling high.

Makes me think if Dominguez hits good Chris Johnson is gone for good.

I also think with the way things are going Jameson Taillon for Jed Lowrie doesnt sound like it could be a hard sell to the Pirates

Not a surprise considering they traded for him as a stopgap for Perez who is back.

It's no surprise that he's not on the ML roster, but I was a bit surprised he was released instead of trying to assign him to AAA.

Moore doesn't have a good minor league history? He hit 31 homers in both of his last 2 fulls seasons in the minors and had an OPS of 873, 846 and over a 1000 in his 28 games this year. Moore has been great in the minors.

Also no way you guys are getting Jameson Tallon for Lowrie. I think you'll get a very solid haul for Lowrie but you aren't getting top ten prospects for a guy who has been injured a lot and is now struggling(and not hitting well away from the Astros bandbox).

One of those two seasons was in A+ ball and both times he didn't walk much and struck out a lot. He's also always been a little bit older than the competition in his leagues. There are plenty of guys with power out there, but I'm sorry, I don't get excited about guys who are striking out a bunch in A+ and AA ball while posting mediocre averages and poor OBPs. He's posting a great line with Washington right now...with a .400 BAbip, and there' s nothing I see in his Minor League numbers (I.E. dominant rates and plate discipline) to make me think he's going to survive the coming BAbip crash. Maybe he will, but there's nothing in his MiLB history to suggest it. So, no, he doesn't have a good Minor League history IMO.

Wandy to the Cardinals?

The idea just kind of struck me as I was reading some guy talking about Garza to the Cardinals, which I don't really see happening due to their bitter rivalry. But with the Astros moving at the end of the year, and Wandy would be able to stay not only in the NL but the central and pitch in the same road parks that he has been all his career, maybe that could be a good fit. If we kick in some money to help cover his contract, they could certainly use him, given Wainwright's slow return from TJ surgery, Carpenter out the rest of the year, Jaime Garcia having some injury troubles, etc. And obviously, Luhnow has a good relationship with the Cardinals front office.

Thoughts?

Ill bit Ash.

It sounds possible.

But who do u ask for?

I pretty much think Shelby Miller is off limits. but thats it.

I would ask for him though.

Carlos Marinez Oscar Taveraz would be the only other 2 i would be intrested in.

I think if the Astros Paid Enuff of Wandys Contract and maybe added Brandon Lyon the astros couls seriously get a good deal from the Cards.

How about Wandy, Myers and pay a good portion of their salary for

Oscar Tavares, OF, AA; Trevor Rosenthal, SP, AA; Keith Butler, RP, AA; Juan Castillo, C, A

Something around that, I dont think they will give up Carlos Martinez and Tavares in the same deal.

I'd like Zack Cox to be in the deal. With Freese' emergance at the MLB level and Cox's stock being down, he might be available in the same way Dominguez was. You figure between the both of them we'll have enough upside at 3B to hold us over for the 3-5 years it will take Ruiz or someone else to develop.

There are so many question marks with him though that I don't think he could be the main piece. I really like Tyrell Jenkins, but I doubt they'd let go of him or Miller. Or Martinez.

Trevor Rosenthal MIGHT be available for Wandy, I might start by asking for Rosenthal, Cox and a PTBNL for Wandy + a good deal of cash, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were rebuffed. Maybe Cox, John Gast and a PTBNL.

Do they need a closer though?

Motte is fourth in the National League in saves and has a 1.69 ERA in his last 10 outings.

Not really.

Did voodoo hack your account? Oscar Taveras is establishing himself as one of the best prospects in baseball. The Cardinals might give him up for Greinke, but never for Wandy.

Rosenthal would probably be a good starting point, though.

It's possible he just didn't look up the numbers. He was a good prospect coming into the season, but tearing up AA at age 19/20 has bumped him up into nearly-elite status.
