My list of centerfielders avilable either though free agency or trade.

1. Mike Cameron

2. Curtis Granderson overall better then Cameron but I have a hard time believe the reports that all it would only take is Hardy for him. It would probably be to pricely for us to trade for him.

3. B.J Upton probably one of the most talented center fielder in the game. But again I don't think the Brewers would have enough to get him.

4. Chris Young very talented but never showed that he can have a decent average or .obp with the present of Parra D Backs might may him available.

5. Coco Crisp coming off of injury his never been dependable. Very good range but a lousy arm.

6. Marlon Byrd the second coming of Gary Mathews Jr probably but decent numbers this year.

7. Reed Johnson would need to platoon with Guret.

Not sure if I missed anyone but something to think about.

I looked up Granderson's numbers at baseball-reference and his number 1 comparable is Reggie Sanders. Sounds about right. He's had one very good season and the rest were okay, nothing special. Strikes out as much as Cameron, so I'm not sure what the casuals will think of him. I'd guess they'd drool over him because he steals bases.

Yeah he is left handed so people like that. He has a good .ops for a centerfielder I think it is more defensive positioning if he played corner outfield he would be more of an average player.

Its going to be like having Kendal in center with less bat. And if we resign Kendal him and Gomez in the 7,and 8 spots and the pitcher to fellow what a black hole in our offense.

It seems as if they believe Weeks will be like the first two months of 2009. Even without the wrist injury that would be far from a guarantee. I am very worried about next season. They are probably relying too heavily on McGehee also.

Yeah it could be a very bad season. Every one other then Braun and Fielder has question marks.

Yeah, I am having those concerns as well. I can see this completely blowing up in their faces. I am not sold on McGehee, his minor league numbers suggest it won't continue. Weeks could be productive again I think, but he could just as easily stink again. Maybe Gomez will reach his potential though, Randolph will take him under his wing like he did Escobar and Weeks. Willie was his manager so I would assume they have some sort of relationship.

Yes...and Yes

Losing Cameron in favor of Gomez...Hardy to Escobar...Kendall and McGehee questions are kinda scary

Once Hardy was removed from the picture...Cameron looked like a better option for the team

Escobar brought the contact hitting and speed that was needed

Now adding Gomez for speed isn't so important and Camerons' slugging will be missed

Man...Melvin is frustrating at times!

I'm going to bed...

Aren't you guys happy with the trade? I am reading this thread and have only seen Gomez' name a few times. Are you in denial? He's your CF.
