I'd bet good money that Miggy will give up more runs at 3rd directly, and indirectly as a result of marginal inability over a real 3rd baseman, than he will score.
Ditto for Fielder.
Having a guy with NO glove in the field is a much bigger problem than you think it is. And in the case of Fielder and Cabrera, a ginormous problem.
Remember Giambi? This is worse, and doubly worse again.
Verlander's not going to be winning any Cy this year with a couple of ham-fisted Sumo wrestlers on his corners. Both are DH's, both are worse than having no-one on 1st or 3rd.
"I'd bet good money that Miggy will give up more runs at 3rd directly, and indirectly as a result of marginal inability over a real 3rd baseman, than he will score. "
What's good money to you? I want some of that action!
I like Campos' numbers and he's 6'4", 18 years old, and not obese. But I notice a lot of back peddling amongst Cashman and his supporters regarding this trade.
When the trade first happened, Pineda was a future #1. Then he became the solid #2 that would compliment CC. Then Cashman says, Pineda, with work, could develop into a #2. Next it was "we only need him in the rotation so he can develop."Now it's "there's still hope with Campo." LOL
"it's their money, not mine.".
That's all you need to repeat to yourself. It's good advice so you should follow it as well.
