I'm OK with Jim Joyce ..and apparantly Galarraga is too. That's what really matter.

The 'game' of baseball is no excuse for hating a human being ..nor for not forgiving the person.

You're preaching to the choir but that's okay.

well, we can agree to disagree.

If I was a fan, I would be more p*ssed 1000x about not winning a WS than not seeing a perfect game. Thats just me though.

If you're basing worst call on being obviously and blatantly wrong, what about the foul ball "out" where the player didn't even have the ball? Or the put out at first where the first baseman was three feet from the bag?

apparently they are basing it on the enormity on the game.

In that case, the WS game was worse!!!!

Wasn't there a wrong call at the plate a few years ago that ended an NL playoff series?

Anyone else remember this game from the mid 70's? Tiger Vern Ruhle starts, walks the first three batters then Jim Crawford comes in and sets down the next 24 in a row before giving up a hit.

2007 Wild Card Tie Breaker game between the Padres and Rockies. Matt Holiday never touched the plate when he "scored" the winning run, and his team eventually went on to the World Series. This bad call literally decided the game, as it was the final play.

Here's why I have ZERO issue with Joyce and the blown call:

For the most part, most MLB players if I am not mistaken reportedly have Joyce as one of the best umpires in the game, both calling it and the ability to allow you to plead your case. He doesn't try to get heated with the other players if they argue. Some will just toss you the minute you open their mouth.

Secondly back to the 28-out perfecto, Joyce fessed up to it right away taking responsibility of a blown call and ADMITTED to the mistake. I've seen umps blow a call and then go to the media saying it was the right call (i.e. Doug Eddings: 2005 ALCS game 2, allowing AJ to swat Bartlett's ball in 08 like ARod did in 04; Eric Gregg and his Jupiter-sized strike zone in the 97 NLCS, etc.)

If Joyce had said: "He was safe. My angle was the right one and the cameras have it wrong and you guys can argue all you want," then yeah, I'd probably act like how six-hopper is.

But whatever six-hopper says about Joyce I actually feel the same way about Eddings. The guy should never umpire another game for the rest of his life.

I remember that. Still mind-boggling how he was called safe.

McClelland was the goat on that one.

It takes a man to admit he made a mistake.

It's a wimp who won't admit a mistake and tries to shove it under the rug.
