Less dense then Anaheim and Los Angeles, isn't it? Not sure about Anaheim (Orange County).

Whoever said Washington doesn't want Trout on his All Star team? I keep seeing that posted or inferred around here all the time. The truth of the matter is, I'm sure Washington would love to have a player like Trout on the team. If Trout doesn't make it, it won't be because Washington didn't want him.

Yeah, American Idol isn't a matter of who wins anymore. It's which white, Southern, guitar-playing, young cute guy gets the young girls (and cougars) votes. Can't be too young though (David Cook beat David Archuletta--who had the young teens behind him), as it's the cougars that really make the difference.

If anyone really wanted anyone to play in the All Star Game, all they would have to do is hire people or recruit volunteers, to make email addresses on yahoo & then vote up to the 25 limit, then rinse & repeat all day. How hard would that be. The whole process could even be automated. What is to say this isn't already being done?

Or, they could be a Japanese star. How many votes has Ichiro Suzuki gotten this year?

That was a teally clever use of words!!!
Thanks, I have a headache after thinking that through!! ;-)

I agree Angels/Dodgers world series would be fantastic.
How badly all those east coast sports networks would feel would only add to the fun!!!
I was not that into baseball in '89 (I think), Oakland vs San Fransisco. How was that?
I just remember a really bad earthquake.

Hours??????
Seriously???? It took.me less than 10 minutes to cast all 25 votes!!!
Surely an Angel fan can spare 10 minutes to vote? ;-)

Even though I wish I knew how to do all that tech stuff, I would feel badly cheating like that. I don't care how many people do it, it just is not right.
Even more reason that fans should not have so much of a say in the outcome of the voting.
Either remove or mainly remove the fans from the equation or have it as just an exhibition game.

All I remember from voting 25 times in previous years is it got so boring.10 minutes too long (I know horrific apathy but I just can't be bothered for a joke of a game).I actually like the suggestion of voting only being allowed at the ballparks during games- then people like myself and all the Japanese Ichiro voters would have to attend games to have a say rather than having as much influence as yourself but from thousands of miles away

I agree that anything would be preferable to this internet voting bs.
Sometime soon, someone has to realize what a total farce this whole thing is?
However until that time I will deposit my votes as requested, if for no other reason than to let our Angels feel that they are respected and loved by their fans.
We certainly don't need them going all Chris Perez on our ars es.!! ;-)

< Less dense then Anaheim and Los Angeles, isn't it? >

Probably about the same in population density but smaller in area. San Diego has 1.3 million people and the surrounding areas (suburbs) probably account for another 1 million or so. San Diego is the 8th largest city in the US, about double that of Boston and Detroit. That is why I think its ridiculous to call the Padres a "small market team"... they are simply cheap!

But Detroit and Boston have the whole state and some of the surrounding states as fans.

So size of city doesn't matter, it's the market.

San Diego's market is just San Diego because when you go north, you get into the LA area.

"they are simply cheap!"

And not as passionate. After all, they're in San Diego (nice area with lots of other things to do).

The kid's 20, calm down. If he's that good of a player, he'll get in more than often in his career. Right now, some veterans are also very deserving because of the career they had, and not the season they're having (half-season).

Like Albert Pujols, he's had a pretty darn good career.

Trout will make the All Star game. But no way will he make the starting line up, he will be voted in by the players and managers.
