Here's the point I don't understand about these people who are slamming Theo & Ricketts. They want Fielder and or Pujols, yet who else to go with them? The fact is even with Pujols, or Fielder(Why would we want 2 1b?) would this team be a contender? Yeah, I guess Ricketts could have bought Cespedes, CJ Wilson, David Reyes and every other free agent, and brought the payroll to what $250mil? I guess that would have made these guys happy. But guess what, the Cubs can't have or maintain that kind of payroll. They say Ricketts cut payroll 30%, but I thought I read that the payroll, including what they are paying Zambrano is 106mil. So, take out Z and Ramirez and isn't the payroll still like 88mil?
Most of these people are very good at spending someone else's money, with no plan. Gee, kind of sounds like what Hendry did, and that worked so well
