Bull ----- Cr.ap!

The bench isnt the problem - its the 5-9 hitters that cant drive in any runs.

I dont care what Damon or Hafners average is over the past month, those guys keep getting meaningless hits or walks when there is nobody on base - not when it matters.

Actually Slugging percentage, a stat developed in 1954 by Branch Rickey, signifies that Duncan can hit lefties. Duncan has a .459 slugging percentage against lefties this year.

"Duncan has 1 more homerun against right handed pitching then he does left handed pitching so where is he doing all that more "mashing"?????"

You should compare the at bat totals. Plus look at doubles.

"those guys keep getting meaningless hits or walks when there is nobody on base - not when it matters."

You're going to try to pull this again? Here's a free refresher.

July 13 - Indians Win 1-0, Hafner 1 RBI
May 23 - Indians Win 4-2, Hafner 2 RBIs
May 22 - Indians Win 5-3, Hafner 2 RBIs
May 14 - Indians Win 5-4, Hafner 1 RBI
April 17 - Indians Win 9-8, Hafner 1 RBI

Wait, wait, wait...before you say it. I care.

So hitting .230 against left handers when you are right handed is good????

21 more at bats and 4 more hits against right handers, I thought we are not supposed to look at such a small sample size...

Why do you keeping ignoring other important stats?

.230 batting average, .341 B.A., .459 SLG, Averaging 1 home run every 18.5 at bats. That is good.

1 home run every 18.5 at bats would be good if he didn't have to get those 18.5 at bats over a 3 week period....

Depends on how you define the size of a "small sample"

Besides, career-wise Shelly hits lefties better.

Doesn't matter if its over x-number of weeks because it's a calculated average.

We are 47-47 and in 3rd place and this team cant hit when it matters. That is BAD.

and Detroit is now in 1st place, not because of pitching but because of hitting! HITTING! Something the Indians havent done in several years.

You switched topics fast, can't wait to see that in the debates this fall.

If you look closely, nothing about my post said anything about the team as a whole. Just your ignorant statement that Hafner 'cannot [get hits] when it matters'

Duncan has always hit lefties better when he comes off the bench but when he gets 3 or 4 at bats a game he isn't as successful.

Sample size is determined when someone uses a small sample size to try to get a point across it is considered too small of a sample but if Adaree uses a small sample size it is okay..... lol

July 13 - Indians Win 1-0, Hafner 1 RBI

But it does matter if it is calculated over X amount of weeks because this team needs offense and they can't wait around for him to get 18.5 at bats so he can hit another home run..... lol

That's $1,857,142.85 per RBI.

Once again, I will remind you of your original statement.

"Hafner gets hits and walks when they dont matter."

My argument is not Hafner is a good player, my argument proves that he has got RBI "when they matter." If you read over those 5 games, you will see that. Thus adding 5 potential wins to the Indians overall record.

To put that in perspective, Kipnis has 6 games of game difference RBI...Hafner has 5. Think about it.
