    • Could Bogaerts and Brentz be a Solution
  • Jan-18
I dont mind the comparison, using Trout, who's an excellent player. I would only say that Trout has always been an OF to my knowledge and never asked to move positions. Boggy is getting so big that it has been said he may outgrow his position at SS and have to be moved to 3rd or even the OF ( I would throw in 1st base as an option as well.). Boston prefers to bring players along more slowly than LA, so that's another factor as to why they would slow Boggy down. IMO both Boggy, Bradley & Brentz have the "Skills" to probably play right now but Im ok with them getting their seasoning in the Minors.

Let's see Bogaerts hold his own for an extended period of time in AA before bumping him up to Pawtucket, let alone the big leagues. The gap between A-ball and AA is pretty massive, and a lot of guys can't make the adjustments. I remember Lars Anderson tore up the Eastern League when he moved up to AA at the end of the '08 season. He never sustained that success again. Let's just take a deep breath and be patient.

Well, about being "Dutch" I can only say that our players are all from The Kingdom of The Netherlands. I can't stand that American players with a last name ending with an A, I or O think they're Italian. Heck, Anthony Rizzo will play for Italy but admits that he's actually never been there and that players like A-Rod are allowed to play for the US team in '06 and for the Dominican Republic in '09. I'm glad that only Victorino and Aceves will leave spring training for this silly tournament not having to hold my breath watching the core players getting hurt. I was really p*ssed back in '09 to see Pedroia and Youk returned to the Sox before the WBC ended because of an injury. Don't get me started about Dice-K destroying his mlb career competing thinking it was October...

So if you want to enjoy the WBC, watch some of the best mlb talent play for the "Dutch. I'm excited to see Profar, Xander and Gregorius take the field rather than Teixeira, Rollins and Wright...
