You are probably a S.ux fan...If you don't think that what Hawk does on a day to day basis unprofessional, when it comes to the world of Broadcasting, then you sir are an idiot.

Other announcers aren't true fans like Hawk. They don't care who wins...they just care about getting paid.

That's only true on national telecast games for FOX etc... every home team broadcaster is pulling for his team to win...

Hawk is the biggest homer there is - most of the rest I see are professional about what the do... his derisve 'he gawn' is unprofessional - along with most of his schtick... and if you pay any attention - he's been warned about some of what he's done.

Hawk makes me want to puke. He is so bad that I can't even watch a Sox game and ENJOY when they lose because he grates at me.

Every single play is the "greatest thing" he has seen in his 70 years in baseball. If he were to be belived, every Sox would be a 1st ballot HOFer.

I have no problem with the guy being a fan, he shouldn't pretend to be non bias.
But be a pro, give the other teams players some respect and acknowledge a good play.

One of the games against the Cubs I think he stained his khakis about a Sox player "just missing it" when it was a routine fly ball and he went on and on about it.
Cubs hit one on Waveland ......crickets.......crickets ........crickets ........20 seconds later he just updates the score with no mention of a home run.
Whats so hard about acknowledging what the other team did?

I recall when Hawk said he would take Joe Crede over any other 3rd baseman in the game. He went on to clarify that statement by saying that he would take Joe even over Arod. This was when Crede was having a nice season in 2006 and posting an .828 OPS(not bad but his career high) with 30 home runs(also a career high). Arod went on that year to post a .914 OPS that year with 35 home runs. The year prior(2005) Arod posted an OPS of 1.031 with 48 home runs. The year after(2007) Arod posted a career high OPS of 1.067 with 54 home runs. Needless to say, Hawk is an idiot. Obviously this was before the steroid leak came out and had Arod named. But would you really still take Crede over Arod at that point?

Hawk is a great play by play announcer. One of the best in the game.

He's original. No one like him.

"foghorn leghorn would make a better announcer than hawk."

At least Foghorn would be more even minded and humble.

The hillbilly gloating "He gawn!" is so lacking in professionalism. No wonder the SLox fans are such louts, they learned sportsmanship at the feet of a crowing redneck fool.

as long as they're professional about it - no problem... I believe Harrelson crosses that line...
