Couple announcements about the Etwins roster. Supp picks from last year Travis Harrison and Hudson Boyd will both play in Elizabethton. Several players from this year's draft will also join the Etwins. That includes 2nd rounders mason Melotakis and JT Chargois, 4th round pick Zach Jones and a few others.

The Etwins start on Tuesday while the GCL starts tomorrow.

New Britain lost 4-3.
Nate Hanson(.279) went 2-4 with a HR(1).
James Beresford(.286) went 2-4.

Matt Summers(6-4, 4.09) gave up 4 runs on 8 hits including 2 HR's over 7.1 innings.
Miguel Sano(.237) went 0-4 with 4 strike outs. He has been a disaster(for the most part) lately.

GCL Twins begin play in about 20 minutes. Starting for the Twins will be Kuo Hua Lo. He was signed out of Taiwan a little over a year ago. This will be his pro debut. I wouldn't be surprised if Buxton leads off.

Edit: Buxton not even in the starting lineup. hmmm.......

Jim Rantz says it will probably be a few days before Buxton plays.

Hudson Boyd is scheduled to start for the Etwins tomorrow.

Michael Tonkin finally promoted to Fort Myers. He recorded 53 strike outs in 39 innings with a 1.38 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP.

Oswaldo Arcia has been named to the MLB Futures game that will be played Sunday, July 8. Game will be on ESPN 2.

Matt Maloney(0-4, 9.38) gave up 6 runs(5 earned) on 7 hits over 1.2 innings. Hopefully they will release him soon and promote someone else. Maloney is a lost cause.

New Britain won 5-3.

Bruce Pugh(0-0, 0.00) gave up a hit and struck out 2. He picked up the save(1).

Fort Myers won 9-5.
Kyle Knudsen went 3-5 with a double.
Levi Michael(.221) and Daniel Ortiz(.257) both went 2-5.
Michael Tonkin made his Fort Myers debut. He gave up a hit and 2 walks in 2.1 scoreless innings. He struck out 3.

Etown won 7-2.
Rory Rhodes went 2-5 with a HR.
Max Kepler went 0-5. He is 0-13 to start the season. Maybe some bad luck because he has only struck out once.
Josh Burris picked up the win in his pro debut. He pitched 3 perfect innings with 3 strike outs.

Just read something from KLAW that blew my mind. Billy Hamilton, playing in high A for the Reds organization, has stolen 80 bases this season! He'll be in the futures game.

He also mentions Sano as one of the players who should be in the futures game. But, he's glad he will get to see Arcia(KLAW is pretty high on Arcia).

Travis Harrison got his 1st pro hit and it was the long variety. He also commited 2 errors at 3rd.

Byron Buxton made his pro debut with the GC Twins today. He went 0-4. He flew out to CF twice, flew out to LF and struck out looking.

Should have traded Buxton while his stock was still high.

Now he is pretty much untradeable. Thanks for nothing Terry Ryan.

I think the best thing the Twins can do is negotiate to pay him $1M (saving $2M) and get him out of his contract so he can go back and play Japanese baseball. The problem is his divorce probably messed this strategy up...because of any dollar settlement between them.
